Love watching a normal family doing life together. We are busy building a 40 foot catamaran at home and hoping to launch in the next 2 years. 3 children under 14 so love watching how you guys are doing it. Love u guys. Keep inspiring us landlubbers to live large
I also watch Sailing Parley Revival with Colin from Below Deck. He was on the Pacific side and was extremely cautious, but there are pirate attacks on the Pacific side! In the episode, he explained how they sailed far (possibly over 100 miles off the coast) bc the pirates do not usually go so far out. They also, at times, turned their tracking off. Colin also told the story of recent pirate attack on a sailboat where the people luckily had a strong door with a lock bc the pirate boarded their vessel and we unable to get to them but they stole everything on the outside and deck area.
Mom back on top. Looks like you found yourself in an extortion trap? Glad you made it out of there. Time for an ocean voyage... but more danger lies in wait. Comforting that your Dolphin friends will accompany you. A great catch! Big dinner on the way. Smooth sailing, good days. Scary moment at 14:11... but I think those boats just came over to admire you. And now come those awful commercial fishing lines... A lot of work for Dad- Aquaman saves the boat again and again. The young crew as ever quick to help. A welcome, lovely dawn (28:44).
Wow, what a struggle with bureaucracy in Mexico. Nice fish, love the sushi. Extreme stress with the long lines. Finn was very knowledgeable about the epoxy putty. Great to see Archie giving support from a horizontal position. What a team. Loved the video.
That has to be the worst thing to deal with on passage and at night. The fishermen should have to somehow light their nets so sail boats can avoid getting tangled! Im glad you managed to clear the nets both times!
Yeah... it was less than ideal... but alas, we managed to sort it out 😀. Ps. The long lines do have lights in Panamanian waters, which is a weird experience itself...
i do look forward to your videos, good job and keep it up. i said it when you got the fish hook injury, but your team is so good on these emergencies, the older kids knew something was wrong from the change to the engines sound and came out without prompting to help and then they where very helpful, even guessing in advance about the epoxy needed. it speaks volumes of the good things to come for the family on the ocean.
I was watching another boat sailing on the Caribbean side to Panama and they were so worried about pirates from Nicaragua they sailed many miles out of the way to avoid them . Glad to see it's not as bad on the Pacific side ,but those fisherman lines are brutal .Once again, great crew, great video .
Hi guys, another great video. Congratulations and well done on providing your four children with the best education in life. I was 52 before I knew that Sassafrass was a timber. As a prospective buyer of a US based yard I am interested to know what the problem was with the Mexican authorities. Was the boat issues just general or was it specific to you guys who have just purchased a new vessel and they were unsure of the paperwork? Keep up the great work living life. Cheers from Newcastle Australia.
Absolutely love your videos guys and I’m always looking forward to seeing your next adventure. Great job mate dealing with the long lines, I think that they should be illegal myself. ❤awesome thank you for sharing
Hello sailing with six haven't seen any of your videos for a while wondering what happened to you. Anyway I'm happy to know it's not pirates going near your boat just some fishermen that fishing net tearing up a rudder is not a good thing. That's a really big risk taking your family and a place like that knowing that there is pirates in areas like that just stay safe my friend God bless you and your family
I think some of those small countries like to -play with people to see how much they can get away with. I had a similar problem in the Philippines. I am not a sailor, I came in on an airplane and for a while I thought I was going to have to swim out.
There are two kinds of people.... Those who want to live their lives free and open.... And those who use their power to control and restrict others. Bureaucrats/pirates are the same.
Good video. As an American I am incensed at the hassle Mexican immigration was giving you when you were trying to LEAVE their country at the same time the Mexicans have allowed millions of illegal immigrants to transit through Mexico so they can walk across the Southern border of the US. Maybe those locals thought you were wealthy since you’re sailing around the world and thought you’d give them a “gift” under the table.
I think that port in particular is known for ‘trying-it-on’ to see if they can get a little extra… unfortunately for them our money went to the agent to help sort it out.
What if you just left Mexico and go to Costa Rica without the Mexican customs dancing? What would they do? Send the fleet after you? 12 miles off shore is international waters. Go wherever you want.
Good question… when you fly - the commercial airline looks after a lot of the paperwork and you just have to look after your personal immigration documents. We have to do entry/exit paperwork for the people but also the boat. 😊
With all their AI algorythms youtube still can't understand that after Episode 16, I want Episode 17. Not 21, not 22, not even 19. SEVENTEEN, you stupid youtube.
