I've got a model 7400 in .270win. Bought it decades ago on the used rack at the gunshop. $250 with scope and sling included. I live a couple hours from Ilion NY where it was made. Used to pick up and deliver freight to the Remington plant. Its a damn shame what happened to the oldest American firearms manufacturer that was still in business over 200yrs back then. People were proud to work there and they made a quality product that the working class could afford. Freedom Arms Group destroyed their legacy by cutting costs and sacrificing quality. Anyone who has owned/used their rifles/shothgun from 1990's and back knows how much pride the long term employees put into their products. God Bless America
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS WITH EVERYONE I APPRECIATE YOU FOR DOING SO, I HAVE TO SAY YOU ARE TELLING IT JUST LIKE IT IS, AMEN, I REMEMBER THOSE DAYS AMERICA USED TO MAKE THE BEST, BUT NOW EVERYTHING HAS BEEN SOLD OUT, GOD BLESS AMERICA AGAIN, HAPPY NEW YEAR,
Thanks my friend for your comment,I call that a great 👍 record, not many gun owners can truthfully say that but with a great gun like that you can, thanks for sharing I appreciate you,god bless 🙏👍
At the age of 16 I was lucky enough to take my first spike with one of these in a 6mm that I borrowed from my uncle. Several years later I asked if I could use to hunt yotes here in Utah. few months later me uncle asked if I still enjoyed that rifle. Well of course I was. Well he than told me it never leaves the family. No I could not just take such a gift from him and explained to him I dont think you know what you got here unc. He asssured me he did but if I really had to give something he gave me a price. Lets say I got lucky. These really are great guns. In the 6mm it is stupid fast, and flat to boot. I love this gun. Good video and thanks for the trip down memory road Ken. God bless sir.
I APPRECIATE YOU MY FRIEND, THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING SUCH A BEAUTIFUL STORY,so real and heart warming reading this reminded me when i took my 16 year old son on his first hunting trip, he took down his first 6 pointer whith a 3030 rifle, thank you SIR, god bless,😀😀
I bought a 270 model four new in 1981. It has been a great choice to say the least. The flat trajectory is my favorite feature. I shoot 130 grain ammunition. It has always knocked a deer down with one shot.

Have had the 7400..cuz leftie since 2000... paid 340.00 Picked up some 10 rd mags for a compulsion habit of lobbing lead at high dollar... beats the slots in vegas when steel plates make that sound at 500 yrds... Very cool shoot stick in my opinion.
No disrespect but it's a magazine, a clip is something you feed into a rifle like mosin nagant, SKS. I just started watching your channel and I guess it's one of those pet peeves when people cause a magazine a clip but each is own and no disrespect. 270 is where they come up with the 308 , a neck down 270, i always buy or bought older ammo guns you could get at an old farm store. 30-30, 30/06, 270. Only other rifles i have are ar15 in 556, 300 blackout 16" for deer. But my lever action 30-30 is pre 60 original and i have killed 3 deer running in one day .
i appreciate your comment, you my friend sound like your a seasoned shooter, a deer man, and have a passion for great guns, i like that, i want to welcome you to my channel. i guess my favorite rifle is the marlin 3030, i love the lever action, thanks for watching, god bless,
Hey I just acquired one of these today. it's one of the fancy ones with the engraved stock and 18 in carbine barrel. my father wanted to gift it to me but I said no, and insisted I give him at least the trade in value of it, so I got mine for 600. it's tapped for a scope but dosent have one, and only one mag. 3 spots of surface rust that look very removable. was super happy until I saw the price of 270 win... looking at 1.30 a round. can't wait to use it this winter.
I APPRECIATE YOU MY FRIEND FOR YOUR COMMENT,CONGRATS CONGRATS, ON YOUR RIFLE, YOU GOT A GREAT DEAL, THAT IS AN AWESOME GUN, IF I GOT ONE AT THAT PRICE I WOULD BE EXCITED AS WELL,GOOD LUCK ON YOUR FIRST TIME OUT WITH THAT BEAUTIFUL DEAR RIFLE, GOD BLESS,😀😃
I actually picked up one in 270 during the pandemic for $400.00 ... It had a scope with ranging to 800 yards for 130 grain bullets. Works perfectly and drives tacks. Even with my reloads. The shop that sold it said the owner passed away and his kids hated guns. It's cleaned, oiled, and in a gunsafe with a dehumidifier. She's in a good place.
HELLO KURT I APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENT, SOME GUYS HAVE ALL THE LUCK, LOL, THAT IS ONE AWESOME RIFLE, BROTHER YOU GOT A STEAL, I MEAN DEAL LOL I BET THAT GUYS KIDS WERE ALL GIRLS LOL,TRUST ME ITS A KEEEEEPER, THANKS FOR SHARING, GOD BLESS,
Ive got the same rifle....Have had it since 1984 second owner. Wish it was alittle lighter now as I get older....thinking of selling for a carbine but they are not much lighter. Good video sir...thanks for the demo.
I have one in30-06 I bought in 1982 right after I graduated high school and got my first job. Haven’t used it in several years but after watching your video think I’m going to go buy a new scope for it and use it some this hunting season on these East Texas bucks and hogs. Thanks for motivating me with your videos.👍🏻👍🏻
thank you ANTHONY for your comment, these old guns still have what it takes to get the job done, this one i have shoots just like it did when it was new, my friend i'm also getting ready to go and get a big BUCK i'm here in ky, is it true that the bucks grow bigger in texas? listen my friend if i have motivated you then i'm glad i did something right, lol i really do enjoy helping people, thanks so much for watching, god bless,👍
@@livininsouthflorida7058 thanks my friend for your comment wow that rifle might be in mint condition and trust me it could be worth a bunch of money back in the day it wasn’t cheap that is one powerful rifle I would hang on to it I appreciate you for watching god bless 👍👍👍
@@godgunsandkenny I also have a few Winchester model 70s also a Will wheatherbe bolt action 30-06 not sure of the model number from the 80s. I did a lot of hunting in upstate ny. Now living in south Florida and the only thing I see is snakes lol
The 7400 and Model Four are the same rifle. The Model Four had the brass caliber in the front of the magazine. These rifles sold rather cheap because they had reputations to be jamomatics. Since the Pandemic, prices on these have gone up. If you want a more accurate and reliable hunting rifle that looks similar to this, get a Remington 7600 which is very popular in the Northeast.
thank you JERRY, i appreciate your comment, the model four is my favorite i love its knock down power, just one shot and your done, thanks my friend for watching, god bless,👍
THANKS RICHARD, FOR YOUR COMMENT, THATS A LIFETIME RIFLE ONE OF REMINGTONS BEST, i bet i know what your going to do with it, my guess is you will leave it to your kids, happy new year, god bless,
thanks JOSHUA, for your comment, i know why you got a lot of looks at the range because that rifle is a powerhouse, just one of the best, its a one SHOT DEER RIFLE just one, hard to find, i appreciate you for watching, god bless,😀
There's. A different model that not much people talk about it's the model 750 this rifle has a different style of locking lugs and is less prone to jamming. another thing would be the brass after shooting ,most Remington's will mark or Mar the brass on the pickup from the magazine and the extraction .the model 750 rotary bolt can be perfected not to mark or Mar the brass because the three lugs give clearance in mag well .unlike the Browning bar and other Remington models like the model 4 , 742 and 7400 .maybe compare the differences on another short clip 👌👍😁😏
Great video. Just bought a model 4 in like new condition in 7MM Express Remington. Haven't been able to fire it yet, plan on tomorrow. You were right on as to the used prices of these rifles.
Thanks Brian,I appreciate your comment, you got lucky my friend I’ve never shot that 7mm but I know it’s a powerful rifle that 270 is my favorite ❤️ I also know that you will love it once you shoot it, happy new year sir god bless
Thanks my friend for your comment yes I would say that you’re fortunate they are very hard to find but one of the finest rifles Remington made thanks for watching god bless 👍👍
One of the only ways those rifles could get better is to have it produced made with stainless steel and a synthetic stock for all weather deer hunting!
Hey Colby my friend I gotta tell ya this is a rifle you can count on to last a lifetime the power is awesome it’s hard to miss w this rifle I’m ready to go after that big buck thanks for sharing I appreciate that thanks for watching god bless 👍👍👍
I just inherited one of these rifles from my dad he passed away about 2 months ago. He loved this thing and killed all kinds of deer with it, I miss him and I’m gonna kill a bunch more with it for him
HELLO TRENT, i'm sorry to hear about your dad passing, i bet he was very special, a man that loved his family, that rifle just does the job, those deer don't have a chance, i appreciate you my friend for sharing this beautiful story, happy hunting, god bless,👍👍
Your very welcome Jeremy sounds like a good deal that is one of Remingtons finest rifles congrats my friend thanks so much for watching enjoy that rifle god bless 👍👍👍👍
If you can lay your hands on a model 760 Gamemaster pump rifle, by all means grab it! Perfect hybrid of 870 shotgun and 742 rifle. I've only seen them in .243, 6mm, .270, .308, and .30-06
YOUR VERY WELCOME, THE 30.06 IS GOOD BUT I WOULD BUY THE 270, BUT THAT MODEL FOUR MIGHT NOT BE SO EASY TO FIND, GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND, HAPPY SHOOTING, GOD BLESS,
I bought one from a man and never heard of it or knew they made a semiautomatic.270 I was a little sceptical at first bc I always used a bolt action.270 and when I shot the semiautomatic it was different of course but it is a very awesome accurate well American grade made boom stick lol
HELLO JESSE, THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENT, THAT MY FRIEND IS ONE OF REMINGTONS BEST RIFLES, ITS THE MOST ACCURATE THE MOST POWERFUL, I JUST LOVE IT, AND AS YOU SHOOT IT YOU WILL FEEL THE SAME AS I DO, CONGRATS, HAPPY NEW YEAR, GOD BLESS,
thank you chris so much for sharing this with everyone,me to brother i wish remington made them that way today, but its not gonna happen, so sad, thanks again brother, god bless,🙏
I have a model four in 30-06. I had my eye on a 7400 for a while and mistaken the model four for the 7400 but I got it anyway. It was expensive but they are pretty difficult to find here in California and I just love the classic design.
thank you my friend for sharing, yes they are expensive but worth every penny, yes they might be hard to find i love the the power they have plus super accurate, that big buck really don't have a prayer, god bless,
HELLO TOMCAT, i appreciate your comment, this 270 model four is one of remingtons finest, its super accurate plus very powerful, good luck finding one, they dont make them anymore, merry christmas
I have this exact rifle in overly mint condition. It has an extension clip that holds maybe 15 and the one that holds 4 too. I’m not sure if it’s ever been fired, it was gifted to me from my Grandfather.
thank you JEREMIAH, i appreciate your comment, thats an awesome buy, you got lucky, these rifles are very hard to find, 300 bucks that is wow, enjoy your rifle my friend, happy new year, god bless,
WELL MAYBE OVER THE YEARS I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT A DIRTY GUN DON'T WORK TO GOOD,I'M NOT SAYING YOURS IS DIRTY, ALOT OF TIMES A LIL LUBE HELPS A LOT, MERRY CHRISTMAS,
I got a 742 woodsmaster my bud has a model 4 my cussing has a 7400 and they all function the same but the model 4 is deff the more smooth of the 3 idk if it's just chance or if it's supposed to be the premium off the remington autos
I APPRECIATE YOU MY FRIEND, THAT MODEL 4 IS AS SMOOTH AS SILK THAT COULD BE IT, I BELIEVE ITS HARD TO FIND ONE THIS SMOOTH,, I HOPE IVE HELPED YOU, THANKS FOR WATCHING, GOD BLESS,😀
The 742/Four/7400 got a bad reputation for jamming by folks who didn't have the faintest idea of how to properly clean and maintain a rifle. Properly cared for, these rifles won't hang up. The old 742 Woodmaster and 7400 were a little more finicky about their diet than the model Four, but proper care goes a long way.
The 7400 is a Model Four, only difference was the brass caliber medallion at the front of the magazine . Same hot blue and high gloss furniture found on the earlier Remington models found in the 80’s.
wow what a gift i wish someone would give me one like that,i mean that 308 is just as good or better as the 270, shoots about the same, plus they are hard to find, hang on to it, thanks for sharing, god bless,😂😂
Did this guy just say this gun has the knock down power to take a deer and elk up to 900 to 1000 yards.. lol that has nothing to do with the gun and more about caliber and bullets. The gun can determine accuracy not knock down power
Thanks my friend for your comment yes I did say that.but I did not mean to confuse anyone, again we are talking about a 270.yes it’s been tested up to a thousand yards with accurate shots sure the caliber makes and. Determines the accurate shot but also the shape and size of your bullet makes a world of difference when it comes to your guns knock down power I’m talking about the way it’s shaped.a ton of people don’t really know this,I think we can agree we are talking about accuracy caliber knock down power and yes I believe this old model four gets the job done .one of Remingtons finest I appreciate you my friend for watching merry Christmas 👍👍
THANKS JAY, I APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENT, I HAVE TO SAY THAT OLD MODEL FOUR IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES, I LOVE IT, ITS A GREAT AMERICAN CLASSIC, MERRY CHRISTMAS,
