Remington 870 SBS - Short Barrel Shotgun 

I'm 63 years old disabled us veteran, I've never owned a gun in my life. But I do want one of these very much. Great video. Very inspirational.

I feel like it's one of those things where you see the perfect tattoo example you have been searching for to show your artist but don't want to copy someone else's work but man this is not only one of the sweetest shotguns I've seen but rifles in general. Period. I hope you don't mind me trying to build a setup like this.

In Canada we don't have restrictions on pump shotguns quite like that. For us it's the overall length, that makes the difference. So with a fixed stock, this one would be legal here as Non-restricted. Semi-auto barrels have to be 18.5 inches or longer to still be Non-restricted. You can go shorter if you have a restricted license. But then it has to be registered, and you only shoot it at a certified range

This is by far the best and most beautiful shotgun I have seen. Perfect length for home defense and/or CQB. That wood stock and foregrip are just awesome and gorgeous. Great job with this. I WILL be trying to emmulate as best as possible.

I've lost count of the number of times I've watched this. The stocks are magnificent. I'm also doing an NFA project and will be doing another one on an 870 soon.

i had to stop watching this video because i became too jealous. i have an ooooold 20" barreled 870 with 7+1 magazine tube and original wood furniture and i thought i was cool.... my hat is totally off to you. you have good style

When I got my Rem. 870P it was 1983. It was plain blue steel with corncob fore end and nice high gloss butt stock and fore end. Had a 20" deer slug barrel. Bought it at Karnival Sports on Avenue P in Brooklyn. Back then you needed a LONG GUN permit (think ya still do) to get a rifle or shotgun. When you bought the gun the store would give you the registration slip and you couldn't buy ammo without your permit and reg. The store had a log book and noted your purchase. Permit and reg numbers, amount of ammo bought, (almost like Hitler). You couldn't touch a gun without showing a permit! I brought the 870P home on the subway, no lie. At the Coney Island stop a transit cop asked to see my permit and reg. He also had me take the gun out so he could see it. He played with my gun for about ten minutes! We had a good time talking guns. Only mistake I ever made was getting a Pachmar pistol grip. Let me tell you, it ain't like on TV shooting a 12ga with that. The gun comes straight back into the web of your hand (OUCH!!!) Mother f___ did it hurt. Now at 65 years and after two eye surgeries my 12ga days are done. Gonna hafta sell my Remington. Hope you all enjoyed this. Thanks for letting me vent.

A friend in Utah, has two 870's, with a 12" and a 14". After using both I think a 15-16" is for me, with screw in chocks, if possible. Very handy, and good w/ slugs and bird shot. We shot skeet with the SBS and did fine. ( And why would someone dislike this vid???).

I have a Mossberg 88 that I put the wood stock on and foregrip on that looks pretty cool but that Remington that you have is super nice!!!

Masterpiece to say the very least....

Now that's the fore end stock I like with those grooves. Not fond of the modern pattern. Sharp looking gun. I bought an old beat up 870 that was an Indiana State Prison trade in for $150 that had cracked stocks, some rust, faded rifle sights, and a bolt that was solid black for some reason, and would barley rack. I spent and extra $229 dollars and sent it to Wilson Combat in Berryville Arkansas and had them put the 'Remington Steal' package on it and it came back like brand new with a shiny bolt that was slick as butter. If anyone has an old 870 that needs some refinishing, look up Wilson Combat's Remington Steal package. 7 years ago it was $229, well worth it. I don't know if the price has gone up though.

I'm mad. I was hoping I could go out and buy one like that. That's a one of a kind.

Beautiful, that is exactly what I want to do to mine minus the police magnum furniture. I have the original wood furniture that came on my other 870 that has a short front foregrip that I really like. I'll probably use a Red Oak stain...

With the advent of the Shockwave Blade and the Sig brace these short barreled shotguns are the only guns I would lay out the $200 dollars for a tax stamp and related hassles of submitting BATF paperwork. Shotgun manufacturers are sleeping on bringing back retro wood stocked Police Cruiser shotguns.. A non paperwork 18" Remington 870 with wood furniture, full length mag tube, and ghost ring sights would fly off the shelves.

Great SBS! I have tried to use the Nordic +1 on a Remington 870 police Magnum SBS I have. The Nordic extends about 1 inch over the barrel. It also has a 14 inch barrel. Still your SBS is awesome!

Gorgeous 870 and I’m a fellow wood stock guy. I’m actually getting ready to refinish a wood set on my 870. What finish/stain/oil did you use to get that color and sheen?? I looked through the comments a loooong way back to see if anybody else has already asked and didn’t see any. I love that color and sheen combo. It’s not dull but it’s also not that God awful high gloss and it has that perfect reddish brown hue that old walnut gets.
