That’s the most informative 870 video ever. I love this series. Cheers from Canada! 🇨🇦

The Remington 870 was I believe what caused that took the Winchester Model 12 out of popularity because of a lower production cost. It might be interesting to make a video on the Winchester model-12 pump action shotgun. It has some interesting design features that make it a unique design. I remember the time when aluminum and plastics were not accepted by many Gunsmiths and shooters. They preferred all metal and wood construction. 👍 I enjoyed your video on the Remington 870 shotgun, thank you for sharing it. 👍🙂

I thoroughly enjoy your videos on the older shotguns. I have collected quite a few through the years and understanding how they come apart and their particular quirks is very helpful. I've got a Remington model 58 in 16 gauge that is my go to field gun but the bolt will not lock in the open position, The gun functions perfectly except for that issue. If you could shine some light on what causes that problem I would be very grateful.

Seems everybody has, or has had, an 870. I have two, an ancient walnut stocked magnum model and a newer police special with the cheap plastic trigger group. Both are sturdy, reliable shooters. Any thanks for this great series of informative lessons on old guns, especially old slide actions. Would love to see Andrew explore the innards of a Remington model 31 or Winchester model 12/25.

The Model 12 is definitely on the to-do list, just looking for a good representative example. Haven't had a Model 31 Remington through here in seems like forever.

@@BTORange I would be happy to loan you mine to feature on your channel. It’s an uncommon variant, a field grade 20 ga. aluminum receiver example.

I believe I see a "C" prefix on the serial number. That would put it between 97-2000. That follower could probably be cleaned up and it should still work.

Your camera is too far away from the things you are trying to show. It would help a lot if you could get closer shots of the small parts and inside the receiver. Also, you don't need to show the person's head and upper torso when he is trying to call attention to a small part. Focus on the part or area of the gun he is talking about. Tight shots of small parts are more informative. When he is trying to point out parts of the trigger assembly, I can't see what he is pointing at.
