Thank you for showing us how it works! My kids are autistic and haircuts are a big problem. I've been looking for something with a vacuum, but didn't want to shell out for a Flowbee. This is a tenth of the price and I'm hoping it'll work! Thank you!
I just got one. Not cordless. I have used Flowbee for years. Lately it dosent seem to cut. This thing is great, Easy and clean. Flowbee is going to the dump finally. Plus it a pain hooking up everything for the Flowbee. This thing plug it in and go.
@@eolden7749 Glad it works for you. I made another video for someone showing how the head re-attaches.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SxEt4Gnjnf0.html
@@eolden7749 I have used Flowbee for years too. I bought the my first on n the 90's which was made in USA, it worked for over 15 years then the motor stopped working. I purchased a new one in 2020 which was made in China. It worked for just over a year then the cutter could not cut hair anymore. I am so disppointed. I will try this new product and see.
So I decided to buy this Remington HC6550 trimmer, and I received it from Amazon, today. Both It's vacuum and hair trimmings collection chamber works very well. My only concern is why my Remington HC6550 trimmer sounds slightly underpowered compared to yours, that was demonstrated in this video, after I seemingly fully charged it before using it for the first time. My trimmer's vacuum whine sounds the same as yours pitchwise, when I turned it on while it was plugged into a power outlet, but had a slightly lower pitched vacuum whine than yours, when I used it cordless. I suspect the internal battery of my Remington HC6550 trimmer may not be getting fully charged/utilizing it's full intended power despite the solid charging light signifying otherwise. I definitely got an hour long use with it after seemingly fully charging it, though. I'm not sure what to do right now, but I'll try charging it again to see if anything changes regarding my previously mentioned concern about my Remington HC6550 trimmer. Worst case scenario is that I may have to get a replacement; we'll see. October 21, 2021 Update: So, it seems my Remington HC6550 is working properly now, so if all continues to go well, I intend to keep this particular one and not exchange or return it. And because the vacuum related features on the Remington HC6550 work so well, I intend to only buy vacuum trimmers from now on. June 13, 2022 Update: I still have the original one that I purchased brand new and it still works like new. I wish it had more guards to help achieve a better fade and I wish it had a 90 degree trimmer head option to more easily shape the back bottom hairline for when you're cutting your own hair, but other than that, I'm glad that I got it.
@@guysolis5843 Well enough, it's just that my concern is that mine might have a faulty power source. I like the Remington HC6550 trimmer enough to give it another chance with a replacement, if need be.
You're the second one to mention Flowbee...I never even heard it that maker before..I got tired of shelling out the money to get mediocre haircuts. I would eventually find good barbers and the next month they are gone! Thanks for responding..
Question: But when you have a lot of hair in the container, doesn't it just fall down when you put the trimmer in vertical position? how does it stays inside?
The Remington does have some good suction but I try to dump it when it gets half full. It doesn't pick up 100% of the hair but I would say it picks up 95%..
Thanks for the demonstration. Question: How much hair of mine would the vacuum of that Remington collect in its hair collection compartment? What percentage? (My profile pic is of me and my beard and head hair displayed in that aforementioned pic is the length that I'm asking for) I'm considering buying that model of Remington, but primarily for the vacuum, assuming it's sufficiently powerful to make the cleanup process signficantly easier/quicker.
I have thick hair and in the end had so little hair on my shoulders etc that it made my purchase worth it. I dumped the chamber frequently to give the vacuum as much power as possible. Doing the top of the head the gizmo was upside down and even then with frequent dumps I lost very little hair. I would say the Remington picked up between 85 and 95 percent of the cut hair..
@@guysolis5843 Thank you very much for the response. Well, it seems like it's worth trying out. I wish it came with a 90 degree angled trimming attachment head too, for ease of cutting/shaping the back bottom hairline of my own head; that would make it even better, I suppose. The "Microtouch Titanium Trim" has a 90 degree angled trimming head, but it doesn't seem like it would have the cutting power that that Remington has, plus the Microtouch doesn't have the vacuum that Remington has, either; decisions, decisions. 😊
@@eolden7749 Oh, I know. It collects enough hair to satisfy me. It's convinced me that vacuum trimmers are the way to go. I have another comment on here about my experience with the one I bought. I still have it and it still works like new.
@@guysolis5843 im doing good as much as one can! Thank you for asking :) the headshave definitely needs a comeback this summer, looked real badass on you and a much cleaner finish👍👌
@@benjamindavis4974 I AM lucky. I have bald uncles but that gene missed me. Some people look great with a bald head but on my channel I shaved my head down to the skin. I was shocked. I looked like Uncle Fester!
Nice job Guy! I just wish you would have trimmed the bottom of your sideburns. A nice straight cut would have been the icing on the cake. I think I'll order a set of these Remington clippers right now. Just what I am looking for...thanks!
Thanks Gary. I usually use either a beard trimmer or my straight razor to trim the burns..I've been using the Remington for a year now and I have it all figured out and will never need a barber again, which is a relief because I usually drop $35 bucks a month and so many times I find a good barber and the next month they are gone..happy barbering to you!
@@guysolis5843 I bought the clippers and they arrived. Time to try them out. Exactly on finally finding a good barber and then they leave. And the dreaded hunt for another begins. At age 64 I am retired and just tired of that routine and I want to save money anyway...lol!
@@garykeniston7281 Good, oil them up and here's my routine..I wet the hair, comb the top forward and the sides and back straight down, I press a towel in the same direct to dry. I use a 5/8ths and and move the clippers straight down leaving the top alone. I go all the way around. The top I use a 3/4's and go forward stopping a few inches from the very front. Another way is I put on the 7/8th guard and go straight up..anyway, glad you got the unit and me at 61 am also tired of the whole routine..let me know how it goes..
Thanks for the video. I am confused about how you are supposed to hold it. I would think that if you hold the guard right against your head that the guard will not change the length of hair that it is cut by the razor.
If you go with the direction of the hair it removes less but if you go against the grain it will take off quite a bit depending on which guard you have on. I changed my technique in this video, it should be helpful for you: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SxEt4Gnjnf0.html
@@guysolis5843 Thanks. I was confused because I use a Philips Norelco beard trimmer. If I don't hold it 90 degrees from the surface the length varies considerably.
Guy, I bought this model and have used it only once. Never used anything like this before. I really love this thing, but today I was putting on a blade and somehow i managed to tear off the whole shebang. I got it put back on but dont know if i did it right. It cut, shaved actually, w/o any blade but wondering if you could show how to attach the "head" back on. Thank you for your time, greatly appreciated.
@@audreymckinney3018 Of course. The blade head comes off very easy. In doing do I discovered a better way to use the Remington! Let me know if this works for you but be easy with it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SxEt4Gnjnf0.html
My boyfriend shaves his head in the bathroom. His whole body is hairy like Chubaca. He says he cleans afterword but hair is always everywhere. Sink, toilet and bathtub. I have ocd and i hope this works because even on days he doesnt shave there are little curly hairs and i have to vacuum the bathroom, wash tub, toilet and have to shake out his towels.i have no clue how he manages to get so much hair everywhere and clean up after him. I see bad reviews on this but i will try anyways and of course ill have to pay for it. Most people rinse their hair down the drain when they take showers. Well he shaves his whole body and every time he shaves his head i freak the hell out. He has the big shaver for his head and needs to do it over the sink with the mirror and ugh sorry end rant
Now THAT is some hair! I love the clipper. The vacuum works great but two things that I do to keep things running smoothly. I use a brush to clean the blades a few times during my hair cut and I keep the blades oiled..Good luck, get back to me after you guys try the clippers!
The whole thing is a learning process. I've been using this set of clippers for over a year now and I got it down pat. When I got COVID I clippered my hair down pretty short but I feel pretty confident now..
I've used mine every month for 3 years, it's holding up but try here: www.remingtonproducts.com/products/shave-and-groom/clippers-and-trimmers/hair-clippers/hkvac2000acdn-18-piece-vacuum-haircut-kit.aspx
I never tried a Flowbee but I know the Flowbee has a hose to contend with. I now use the Remington differently. Instead of cutting downwards, I cut in the direction I normally cut my hair..works well for me.
The Remington Vacuum Trimmer seems to fluff up the hair, because of the powerful vacuum! I must say, you look very handsome with short fluffy hair! You really do! I hope the new Buzzcut for Women and Girls that I invented looks as nice!
Sure it does. I just had the great pleasure of using my freshly honed straight razor to completely remove mine: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-06ogOZY2Bbk.html
I've got a smaller Philips vacuum clipper. It's not really suited for hair, since the chamber is quite small, so it's better for beards. But even though it won't suck in all the small bits, it's still a ton better than having to vacuum giant balls of hair from the floor.
Haha..you see how thick my hair is..I buzzed it down then honed up my best straight razor and barely got through with the front of my head then switched to a DE. Worst thing ever..my hair is too thick for that...in the end I looked like Uncle Fester, exactly! I deleted the video, it was a little weird..thanks for responding.
I've sported a pomp for over 10 years and even all the way through high school and I have also been shaving with a straight for over 10 years so yes, I do understand..
