In this video I will show you how I strip and clean wahl senior clippers, it is amazing how they come back to life with a good clipper maintenance routine. You will see how clippers move a lot better when all the congested hair is removed.

Careful about the nut in with the level bolt goes,make sure you don't loose that,and skip the part in the beginning since you'll open it rinsing it is a bit redundant and expensive when the clippercide is £10 these days,also I'd use Andis it's exponentially better quality clippercide and lubricates more diminishing the noise aswell.other than that its a great video,thanks for your time to educate.

Compressed air would make it easier to remove debris from the cavities. Even one of those keyboard cleaner cans. Submerging clippers that are plugged into an electrical outlet would not be good. I enjoy the channel. I have been cutting my hear for about 5 years now but have learned a lot from you.

Great vid, thx. I have a cheap Babyliss, almost identical procedure. I suggest a small amount of silicone grease on the rotating pin and lightly oil all moving parts. The rechargeable batteries are also easy replace when they stop holding charge. If you don’t have a compressed air gun just give it a good blow to get rid of the stuff the brush doesn’t reach.

Great video. Forgot the lube. Light layer of high viscosity grease between the blades and a couple of drops of clipper oil right on the blades while clippers are running. The high viscosity grease will ensure the longevity of the clippers. Whenever the clippers start running hot, it's time to clean and lube.

I got some Wahl with a lever (not the senior but some other model), but whener I try to tighten the screws after aligning the blades, the blades misalign and then I get this super noisy rattling sound. My housemate came out of his room thinking someone rang the door when I tried lol
@theoneminutebarber
@theoneminutebarber 8 месяцев назад
The rattling can be because the lever screw needs to be a little tighter. For the blade screws tighten them a little each. A little on one and a little on the other and so on until they are both tight.
@guillermoalonso1275
@guillermoalonso1275 8 месяцев назад
@@theoneminutebarber Thanks Michael! Gave it a try and seems to be doing better. Also discovered that my model has a screw on the opposite side of the lever, which seems to somehow regulate the angle at which the inner blade moves with respect to the outter, fixed one (if that makes any sense). Fiddled with it a bit and I think I got the clipper back to a working state. Cheers!

Would you say the shorter you go on thinning hair the thicker it looks or the longer it is the thicker it looks or just in the middle not long but not short
@theoneminutebarber
@theoneminutebarber 2 года назад
Getting the balance right on thinning hair is important, so many guys think keeping it long will cover thinning areas, but in actual fact it draws attention to hair Los as there isn't enough body for the hair to lay normally and you need to use the lightest of product. I'd say it's better to be closer to short than long in most cases as hair begins to go.

Yeah that will work but it will take the hair to the exact length of the #6 guard on top if you go against the grain. A #4 with the grain will cut longer. It will reduce the density that the hair sits from the scalp when lying flat.

Is WD40 fine to use for what the Clippercide is used in this video?
@theoneminutebarber
@theoneminutebarber 2 года назад
Chris I'm not too sure, if it's domestic use it's probably ok I'd say as long as you are not letting the bare blade touch the skin, the reason I say that is I don't know anything about the safety of wd40 on something like a weeping spot, or if a misaligned blade caused an abraision. That said clippercide and WD 40 will probably be comparable in price. Clippercide is really cheap stuff a can normally last for months, I get easily two thousand disinfections from one can.

To really do a good job on them would be to hand sharpen the blades a specific way, then strip it down and get to the armature and set the tension on it because if too slack results in poor cutting performance plus dragging the hair....too much and he blades will heat up and may stop so it is important that you get it right this one thing will make all the difference to the unit.
