When i travel to the UK i borrow an old side by side that my buddies father hunted with for most of his life. It's chambered for 2.5 inch shells, It always amazes me how deadly those little shells are on wild pheasants over there.

Shot them for years great load just getting hard to find! Early 2000s my store stocked them all the time.

My B-80 likes Federal prairie storm fs lead, 3”-#5’s. Hunted wild birds in ND for several years and that round will reach out there.

Great video. Thanks for doing it . I have a 1957 wingmaster in 20 ga. 2 3/4 inch chamber. These will be perfect for that gun

Shot size on game birds is an interesting topic. I hunt with a number of folks in their 70s and 80s. They've moved up to #6 on whitewings. Whitewings (and the invasive Eurasian doves) don't just give up like mourning doves. 7.5s are ideal but #6s prevent any chasing when they hit the ground. One thing though.... they all use IC or skeet chokes to reduce the number of pellet impacts otherwise the birds are torn up. It works great for them.

Have you patterned the 20 gauge 3” #4 1 1/4 oz Nitro Mag loads?

Yes.

@@RandyWakeman how’d they pattern compared to the 2 3/4”? I’m considering picking up a box of each.

Just as you might expect: 10% denser.

@@RandyWakeman I was just curious. I might run a 2 3/4” as first shot followed up by two 3” in that same load
