The Versamax System is a direct copy of the infamous Benelli M4/M1014 ARGO System. The Versa and Argo piston systems are the absolute best period . There is literally nothing better when it comes to piston shotgun. I'm actually not a Remington Fan at all but when the Versa System came put I picked up the Versamax Tactical 22". About a year ago I picked up the Synthetic V3. Both have been outstanding
Brent...from EVERYONE I hear that would know (Randy Wakeman& Remington) there are no plans for one which is just STUPID. TSS being the great equalizer for turkey loads alot of folks are dropping to sub-gauges....it just makes sense to make a 20 in either the V3 ( the one I prefer) or the Versamax. But....what the hell do I know???!!!
I have 2 of these as well. I found a used synthetic camo with a 26” barrel. Then I found a set of wood furniture for it and the furniture turned out to be for the Versa Max. I had to shave out a little bit of wood in the forend and it worked. I will eventually have the barrel and receiver cerakoted but it looks good with the wood. I put a LimbSaver AirTech recoil pad on it and it’s about perfect. Last fall I went to one of my favorite gun stores and they had a black synthetic with a 28” barrel brand new. It was old stock from before Remington folded. The new company that bought them released a bunch of new old stock. I bought that one too. These are the best semi autos Remington ever made in my opinion. I’ve had so many 1100s and I still have a mint 1988 dated 1187 Premier with the competition carrier that I love but the loading system on the V3 gives it the win. If I’m not shooting my Benelli Ethos, I’m shooting one of the V3s. Honestly I don’t take the Ethos in the woods. I called Remington about a year ago and the guy on the phone said they were back in production. I made a video on that and Randy Waksman responded and said they were not producing anything but just selling the old stock. My new one didn’t have a warranty card in it so I have to believe Randy was right. He usually is! 😀. Maybe they’ll start soon! Thanks for the video! Love to hear stories from hunts because that’s where it counts!
There is nothing in the wood or synthetic stock back where the recoil pad attaches. Everything is the receiver forward. A really well designed shotgun.
Just picked up a used v3 walnut today. The gun looks brand new from the outside, and is absolutely beautiful. I shot 75 rounds through it at a skeet range today and had a lot of fun. When I got home I performed a basic wipe-down. I decided to try and clean the gas cylinders but it is impossible for me right now. I'm not sure if you have the same setup as the synthetic model or like mine though. I wish mine was like the synthetic model where you could stick an alan key or something through it. I actually stripped part of the end on the nut and gave up. I guess I'll take it back to the shop tomorrow hopefully for them to unloosen it. Possibly if I used heat it would come loose, but I'm not sure. Also I am turning it counter-clockwise lol I sometimes turn it the wrong way without thinking, but not this time.
I dropped mine in muddy water and it got caked in mud, wiped it off checked the barrel and shot a goose a minute later. Only problem ive run i to was faliure to fire or fully cycle but it came down to the shells in the end
I have the sx3 and the v3 waterfowl pro Both great guns. I prefer the v3 but that’s just personal preference As the Remington just fits me better plus super easy to take down without any tools. Just use the gas piston rods to push the pins out of the receiver
I know the Video is 4 years old now how do you feel about the V-3 now that you have used it for a few years, would you still buy Remington products with the new Rem-arms Company? I have a chance to buy one now Dec 2022, do you think I should. thanks for your Video.
Bought one in 2020,after 500 shots i had enough of it,often that was dust blowed from some valves they invented right in my face during shooting clay pigeon, beretta 686 silver pigeon 1 is a much better choice
Hey body does this gun ever “throw” or does the fire ever come out of the breech bolt area? Cuz when I shoot I see fire (explosion) coming out of the chamber..
