@@Bigtay457yes. The “level” of your prism is just the combined level of all the shards in your prism. If you combine 2 level 10 shards into 1 level 1 fusion, your prism goes down 19 levels (-20 from losing the old shards but +1 from the new combined shard). So resetting it removes all the shards, meaning your prism is back to lvl 0.
Tragic has been very understanding in the shortcomings of this system in the Discord. Hopefully a patch comes soon because i’m sure im not the only one staying away from it until XP gain is buffed and legendaries can be re rolled. It shouldn’t be super easy, but it definitely shouldn’t be this reliant on RNG for how grindy it is.
This is great to hear. I actually do really like the Prism system but I don’t like the “type” of grind associated with it. Boss Rush is fun, awesome that we get SO much xp from it (unfortunate that higher difficulties only give 5% more each). But I don’t really care about leveling a Prism right now, I’m just cobbling one together and I’ll get what I get. The end goal is to just play the game. At end game, what’s the actual point of leveling a Prism? To get more dmg? For what, to run more boss rushes better in apoc? We can do that without any Prism, so I’m just leveling it as I go and enjoying the boss rush. I know some people like grind for the sake of grind but it’s not for me
Apoc should be 4x exp… not 1.15 exp.. It takes about 4x longer, and the risk of dying is exponential. There’s NO reason it shouldn’t give you 400k exp for an apoc gauntlet clear.
I say that rerolling a prism should cost a simulacrum, it gives them another use once you have nothing else to use them for. Also, not being able to reset the prism is pretty dumb. Definitely need a buff towards exp, because dear lord leveling this thing is a nightmare. Especially if you’re combining stats. I got mines with four fusion stats not too long ago, and it’s back at level 16. Something I’m gonna try at the end just before my final prism level is to make a backup of my save file, level it up, and see what I get. If I don’t like it, I’ll try and see if I can save scum it to get a different result. I’m not too entirely sure if the legendary stat is determined off the rip or when it actually levels up, but I was able to save my prism earlier from a stupid mistake I made that was picking the wrong stat to feed in and not getting what I meant to select, so it might work! And yes, I know saving scumming is, well, scummy. But the time investment is too damn high for a legendary stat that could be absolutely useless for my build.
I don't like the fact that I farmed and got every single Mythic just for 14 of those to be ripped out of my hands you know how how many hours I have put in the game for those yeah a lot
insert massive amounts of save scumming, its well over 2m xp to max one prisim. i like the game alot but this execution isnt it. we should be able to flush a bonus after it gets maxed and reroll the final perk
there is not much to complain about the prism rework, except for the three reasons you have to max level before you can reset it and the xp gain should be a lot more the prism takes too long to level up and the relic dust needs to go, i hate that part of the game, i'd rather spend more time collecting scraps than bothering with that damn relic dust crap
Literally all of the XP methods posted before this update will be faster than boss rush. It's so easy to test this. For example, kill the Nightweaver, go back through the web, then use a max range heatwave to kill everything in the mansion. Liquid escape, then heatwave, repeat.. 10k xp per minute. Boss rush on easiest diffficulty is like 10k per 5 minutes when you include load times. It's SO bad compared to the other options.
They definitely need to buff XP for apoc. I do like having a mode to test builds quickly so either way, that now exists, but for leveling your frags, yeah, we need an XP buff for apoc. Also apoc should have unique rewards like simulacrum, tons of relic dust (we do not get enough of this and it’s criminal), materials, etc. Not just one random chest in areas.
This is a great idea they should have multipliers for the “relic dust and scrap” drops in the higher difficulties of boss rush, That would be amazing! But agreed I’m not really getting enough relic dust to warrant me feeding my fragments into my prism atm, plus dwell is being a cock squeezer with his RNG 😂
For the open world exp, just let tomes of knowledge give a single level to your prism. This way, exploring stays rewarding when you play the campaign or adventure mode.
I wouldn’t have a single issue with this system if you could just reset your prism at level 10 or so. Grinding it takes really long, but almost any of the legendary shards are a decent power spike and beneficial in some way, so not being able to reroll them, while annoying, isn’t the end of the world. But getting a few bad stats on your prism and then being forced to grind 3-4 hours of boss rush just to be able to RESET it??????? That’s just the worst feeling mechanic. Especially because you could roll a decent legendary shard and are now stuck with an awful prism since it has a legendary you want. Just let me reset mine at level 10 if I don’t get the stats I like and I’ll be happy. Rerolling legendary shards would be nice, but they’re insane power creep and we’re stronger than before even with a bad legendary shard. Not getting the exact one you want isn’t the end of the world.
Can't we just alt+F4 when the time comes to chose de legendary fragment and there is nothing interesting? I think that fragment should be a bonus we actually chose, even if the most broken ones got watered down.

Check out Mr. Nacho guide on how to maximize your chances of getting good rolls on your prisms. It's very informative and might help a little for those who don't really understand it. They definitely need to revamp the system though. At least a reroll for the legendary.
If you could flush the prism before 51 AND you could reroll legendary perks without rerolling the entire prism, this would be perfect. Even if, to reroll the legendary, you had to grind 50 levels worth of experience, it would be worth it to keep the rest of my perks
Bro yea the grind is unreal. And its not like the fun kind of grind. I was excited for this patch but I think im out bois. I dont think I can handle this kind of disrespect for players time.
The grind isn’t the worst but with the amount of RNG and realising you need to do this over again for different builds you want test and try out, it really does take the wind out of your sails. You know it’s bad when people are openly admitting to modding their prisms to lvl 50 😅
Hope so dude it’s a really cool system just implemented way to late and having like 3-4 layers of RNG just doesn’t make this enjoyable even as a side hustle…
I don’t think the grind is the issue mainly the system, Most people would probably be happy with the system and the grind if you didn’t get locked in to the prism if you made a mistake or got bad RNG. I think it’s a system with so much potential don’t get me wrong, just having 3-4 layers of RNG is exhausting it’s like playing slot machine, also should have been implemented way sooner there’s only so much you can do in remnant before it gets extremely repetitive haha
An extra layer of RNG bullshit is the fusions. I have been farming for 3 days, on my second prism (since the fusions list has been leaked now). SUPPOSEDLY they are guaranteed rolls at SOME point after the two base fragments level past +5. I currently have a level 42 prism with NO fusions even though I have +10 melee dmg/+7speed (warrior fusion) and +8/+9 armor/DR (Tank). So when they fuse my whole prism drops 32 levels and I gotta start again...IDEALLY with two new sets of fusions, so that I can do it...AGAIN. Then, after 2 weeks of relentless farming for the perfect rolls for a single prism, I have to hope that I get one of the 2 legendaries I want for a perfect roll. A 5%chance? Are you kidding me?
And just to clarify, I don't hate the system. I don't want to be spoon fed extra power for a game where I already feel like there are 1000 OP builds. I just don't like the idea that all that effort has a high chance for little to no payoff, especially considering the nerf fragments as a whole got.
I’m with you there dude, I’ve just ran into the same problem… I didn’t realise the fusions were also not guaranteed rolls even tho you have the “fragments” ready to be fused, which to some people might not be the biggest issue in the world, But for all the people that want to min max there builds is such a slog to get the perfect “prism” I like the new system too dude, just far to much RNG and it’s to “endless” of a grind for it to be enjoyable. I think someone worked out it could on average take you over 100hrs for just 1 semi decent prism with the legendary fragment your chasing/want Really think being able to reroll legendaries and getting more XP would probably elevate some of this grind! Appreciate you coming through legend 💪
Nope. Tested it. The 3 legendary prism buffs are pre-determined at prism lvl 0 into the save file. So save creep method on this, doesn't work. Basically: Have fun reaching lvl 51, then reset, ONLY to have less than 10% chance, to get the legendary prism buff you want. Until you know? Lvl it back up to 51.
I know the drive to get the perfect prism, but I think what a lot of people are missing is you don't need it to be perfect. I think the only part needed to really make build op are the legendaries. I hope some thing do get ironed out but simply I could see very small changes making it great, even if they changed to give us 5 choices instead of 3 that way if you have all slots filled you can level the low ones to go for the mixed ones much easier, and it would cut the legendary rng a good amount. Truly I feel it's mostly growing pains with a lot of the problems, but there are some things just bad (and this is just from what I found and much like everyone else personal opinion) ie some fragment not having any mixed options, redundant legendary mods, and having to max a prism to cleanse it. Rerolling legendary options sounds great and if balance with economy of the game it could be amazing. I haven't even got my legendaries yet but I know my luck won't give me any I want and I forsee much grinding in my future.
And your right it doesn’t need to be perfect But it shouldn’t feel like a chore just leveling your prism 😅 Ill still invest time into the system and let’s be honest most peoples builds don’t need to upgrades but it still would of been nice to at least try them out haha I try to put myself in other peoples shoes, I can handle a pointless grind to a degree but this is going to put so many people off from even testing this system out because of how tedious and time consuming it is. Love your idea of rolling 5 legendaries and maybe still having the option to reroll after would definitely be an improvement!
@AussiesomeTwo and I agree that it shouldn't feel like a chore, I do think there's definitely improvement to be made, but there's always 2 sides if they do anything too drastic it could be equally problematic and cause it to less so be an end game refinement and more just make the entire endgame too easy. You bring up great points and the devs should listen, I didn't so much comment to critic you personally and more so share my opinion on the situation because I've seen overwhelmingly the comment sections about any prism video being too negative, but I definitely don't think I'm any definitive expert and truly could just be way off.
Def Not the best way to Farm prism XP. The hatchery with a good Layout is hands down best XP Farm. 1 min per Run 5-6k XP per Run. Took me 5-6h from 0-50. With fusing around 9-10h. Boring but efficient
Ahhh I’ve been meaning to try the hatchery Just a pain to try and get it to roll in adventure mode ect. But I’ll probably give this a run today and test the difference Appreciate the knowledge drop 🙏

So the devs have come out and said that they will patch the prism system to allow rerolling legendaries, allow reset of prism after level 10, and increasing exp gain on higher boss rush levels. You're getting all the things you asked for. Just don't know the timeline.
The xp bonus is sooo stupid….. there’s absolutely zero reason asides from bragging rights or skill test to doing apocalypse runs now…. They need to make apoc give you 200-250k per completion. I can gauntlet on survivor in 30 minutes flat…. While it takes me about 2 hours on apoc…. So even then.. it would STILL be better than apocalypse runs.. (which makes me think it should be more like 450-500k for apoc..but I’m sure others can do it faster than 2 hours.) but the risk of dying on round 18 and only getting 18k experience is massive on apoc… soo 🤷♂️🤷♂️ it really should be 400-500k exp. I love everything else about the update. Its fkn incredible.
I don’t know if this has been debunked but I believe each prism has 6 legendary fragments because there is 42 legendary fragments and 7 prisms. 7X6=42 and I also believe the fragments represent the 7 deadly sins. I could be wrong. Can someone let me know if I’m wrong please.
Another thing to further the point that it takes ages to level a prism: I fed all my fragments but 3 (most of them mythics), and it only levelled my prism by 1,5 levels
After 6h of resetting 1 prism over and over again i finally got a decend one just tze solo stat isn the right one but it rolles with jack of all trades so i took it
there is an even better version using the toxic release valve, with this you can run from on cp to the other in just 1 minute killing everything, you get around 5-6k per minute in apoc, but it still takes super long when trying for fusions
It’s not a perfect system but the prisms are just another tool to make the game easier 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ they didn’t make the game harder so the prisms are just additional buffs to already overpowered builds. People just love to complain nowadays smh
I actually don't mind it, let the people who are lower level/power have a really good way of leveling up. And then apocalypse is more for the challenge and accomplishment
