for some that maybe were in the same spot as me, there's another elevator platform ontop of the one you took to get back to the 'main path' go back up to where you found the recovery ring and this time the elevator should take you upwards instead of down

Can also be found in Terminus Station, when you go back down of a long lift, try go back up again, and keep looking 360 degrees until you see an opening, then jump through it.
