Joni House takes us to the remains of Sleettown, an African American community that sprang up on the Perryville Battlefield after the conclusion of the battle in 1862.
Please disregard the poor audio quality as best as you can. We unfortunately had a malfunctioning microphone.
Look for our numerous videos on RU-vid over the next week, and special thanks to all the donors who helped make this trip possible!

As someone who is an American expat living in Rome, having all four of my kids here, children who know NOTHING about American anti black RACISM, NEVER one day of their life experiencing this perversion of the human psyche, reading your odd comment, I can say I'm glad I married an Italian and made my life and my children's life far away from people like you. This is a nice channel with good people who love history, why you would bring your mental neurosis here is beyond my understanding.

@@lf1496 think. You. Write me. Now. To me an American under attack yes verbally in the written form. Yes you do not concieve of the attack. Yes you will faint the words of the attack. But thats the very heart of racism. You dont live here making you an authority you have 4 children my my a proud chest of medals thats why they are flaunted. I live in Mississippi in fact 15 miles from the very backwoods town community where whites live on one side blacks the other of a railroad track that runs north to south as long as the Mexican gulf likely to Canadaive lived here 20 years i was from Pennslvania a coal town electedand prode i grew up never seeing a black man or woman. In 1975 i saw one in the army
