Sweet lake! That was quite an adventure getting there! I'd enjoy hiking there just for a look. I don't really do anything so people could track me... hadn't thought about it before... I have a Garmin though, so if I was able, I could call for help. Better luck next time with fishing! :) like
The whipping noise is an indicator of too much force in the casting stroke (commonly referred to as "cracking the whip")- keep the rod tip up higher on the forward stop too
This has probably already pointed out but your lowering your rod way too much on your back cast. This is a common beginner mistake. There are some good fly casting videos on RU-vide to help you correct this mistake. Basically when you are casting you need to keep your rod between the 10 and 2 o’clock positions.
