Wow what a job you blocks had today, well done , team effort to rescue the other boat. Certainly out of the norm for you Mark, great experience as well. Cheers Judy
Well done. It was very confusing at the start, trying to work out who was getting rescued. You or the other boat. 10 minutes in, we worked it out. Great job, guys.
Well done guys. Just out of curiosity why did they not jump in themselves? On a sailing trip i had the bright idea of chucking out a rear anchor to stop the yacht swinging into the tiny island we were anchored against. We started trawling for snook, caught 6 ~70cm filleted then and threw the bodies off the back. Next morning wind changed and we were starting to get blown towards the island. Went to pull up rear anchor and rope wrapped around the rudder over night as we swung back and forth ~30x the ridder was around 180cm in length and around 1.5m under the stern of the yacht. We were in white pointer land in an island group called the sir joseph banks, most southern small round island. Everyone looked at each other, and i said well i suppose i am going in since the rear anchor was my idea put on a wetsuit flippers and a mask, strap on mask breaks. Get into the water and start to dive in and undo 1 loop at a time each time having to surface, undo the jammed roap between the hull and the rudder, swim down 1.5m to bottom of rudder while holding the mask against my face with one hand. In the end someone has to do it or lose the boat. Good on you guys for giving it a go.
That sounds like a bitnof adventure, would of been hard holding your mask af the same time! They did try the day before but they are a bit older so better to send the son in law 😅
