Mike's lack of stealth (or sense of urgency) combined with Andy's panic-stricken fear-singery commentary is making this EXTRA tense 😱😂😭 P.S. apparently Mafia II holds the Guinness World Record for "most swearing in a video game."
It's fairly well-known that damage to the C2 and C3 vertebrae can quite easily paralyze someone and, in the case of a piercing blow, can cause hand/arm paralysis as well (as claimed in an episode of Bones, insertion into that space and moving up and down causes pinkie and ring finger paralysis, while a back and forth motion damages the middle, index, and thumb mobility).
I looked up this game, and the PC (Jennifer) was sent to work as a maid in the hotel after getting kicked out of boarding school. That's why she's dressed like that: it's her uniform.
I watched a different two part stream of this game by Gab Smolders and the story and general confusing presentation of the game was mentioned by most comments! Even after watching the whole thing, I'm still confused! Oh, also victorian inspired clothes were common in the 1970s, when the game is set, but it does make the opening scenes confusing because they make it seem like the setting is the 1800s.
I head-canon it as the mirror can only reverse damage done in the hotel itself, so any prior injuries aren't healed (or maybe it just heals scissor damage 🤷♂️). Without a prologue or playing it myself, though, I can't verify when she suffered the arm injury (though it looks rather old and more professionally set than would be done in a 1973 moth hotel). That may explain the death from yeeting oneself into the snow one story below, actually...the character lands on her injured arm, re-breaks it, passes out from shock, and either dies of exposure or Kathy Bates.
Oh my goodness, Poor Andy! I have no doubt if you were all in the same room Andy would have wrestled the controller away from Mike like 5 seconds into the game. lol. That was great fun! Thank you guys so much for all your videos, and especially hallowstreams, I always rewatch your older ones, and am so glad I'll have more to watch!
This has siblings watching each other play games energy. Mike being the younger and Andy being the older, wanting to control but Mike doesn't care. Jane is not playing, just watching and giggling.
I feel for Andy because I'm also massively stressed watching Mike not pay attention to the game and the laundry room bit took literal years off my life (also, extremely disappointed that Mike asked "who are we gonna call?" and no one went for it)
Thanks for the shout-out and sorry for pestering haha, definitely didn't have my fear glands removed sadly but being distracted by the sheer frustration of this stream helped at least a little :)
@@Gledster, to be fair, Andy grouses about Mike *not* crouching in games like Hitman, but then flips the script for this. Which is it, Andy...crouch or no crouch?
Watching Mike look for a locker that was clearly pointed out by the camera stressed me out soooooo bad! I realized I'd be holding my breath the entire time 😂😂😂
"anything's a portal on halloween" me who sleeps with a computer in my room, next to bay windows, with the living room tv and balcony close to me, and my phone on hand. well, i'm screwed.
😂😂😭💀❤️ Yes Andy with his safety beanie! Absolutely love Hallowstream szn!! 21:15 Andy’s expression is a whole mood! ....also Mike playing stealth is Andy fear! Love all three of you!
"It's my new jogging music." Jane, if I put the chase scene on as a bit of music for jogging, I'd be pelting it down the treadmill. And I have bad knees and can't even do that! So that says a lot about how effective the music is.
I actually had to put down the controller and stop playing when it let me vault over the railing of the balcony simply because the dev put the vault option for that railing asset and didn't remove it for when you SHOULDNT be vaulting.
@@AlmightyPolarBear she totally would have survived landing in the snow and it definitely would have been the better choice so she didn't have to witness all the bugs in the rest of the game
Mike: Stealth! What! Why? Andy: oh no stealth. Why is Mike controlling this. Welcome to Mike's stealth academy 😂Andy freaking himself out hands on head as Mike sneaks around moth lady is the best
One of my frames fell off the wall during a spooky bit when you guys screamed. And of course I end up screaming! Its 11:30 at night aswell so pretty sure I waked the neighbours
Close. "Mafia II" drops the f-bomb two hundred times, narrowly edging out "House of the Dead: Overkill", who had the record of 189. Beating both of them, however, is Sierra's "Scarface: The World is Yours" with a total of 5,688 uses of the swear. Notably, the game only has 31,000 words in it's script, meaning five percent or one out of every twenty words is fuck.
@@matthewnanney2065 that would be "the nape of the neck" for AoT. But… the easiest way to paralyze and also (most likely) kill someone would be to stab them through the gap in the Cervical 2/3 vertebrae. It's easier to get to than the end of the brain stem, especially, I'd imagine, if you are a young woman with a broken arm, and you can't get the knife up under what is basically the very base of your skull as easily as you can one or two vertebrae down. Beside, it would paralyze her, and then if you wanted to be really morbid, you could finish her off with that shovel/trowel in the easily exposed C1/C2. For the record of the Internet, I am not a Hitman, serial killer, and in this case, I can't even claim "I'm a writer!!!", because I know all of this from my own neck and various spine problems ^_^.
@@Crisjola, I learned about that sort of damage thanks to Bones. Episode 18 of season 2 mentions paralysis via damage to the spine between the C2 and C3 (with "wiggling" (up and down) the weapon causing damage to the ring and pinkie side of the hand and "waggling" (side to side) injures the rest instead).
You found the secret shortcut ending. -Andy Said after Mike jumps off the balcony...the first time. Why are you like this? -also Andy Said after the second rail jump.
Yes. Phones. Patented in 1976 but not widely installed until around 1900.... Plus there is color and we all know that colors weren't invented until 17 Dec 1953....
ANDY! You're right about why they didn't use period-accurate cursing in Deadwood. The director said he didn't want all his characters to sound like Yosemite Sam LOL (did you hear this from Tim Roger's RDR2 Review as well?). Also, *GOOD JOB KILLING THAT OLD MOTH-HAG MIKE!*
Oh my god, why would anyone give Mike control of such a game lol. Also, it wouldn’t be an Outside Xbox stream if some kind of technical difficulty didn’t plague the first 10-20 minutes lol. With all that said, I always enjoy your guys streams. Keep it up.
I'm in the middle of watching this game as some dude got it early a week ago. It has potential. They just didn't have enough money for proper play testing I guess.
