@@SohiTheTinyKittenHuman True, but Andy has been giving big brother energy long before Luke became a dad. Take the playing Mousetrap video for example (there are more but it is my favourite).
My thought was "1 million? Maybe 1 million Won... but dollars or pounds? NOPE!" Seriously. Pokémon cards aren't that pricy. Luke was surprised the one he got was only 2$... well.... the cheap cards are less than 1$. Something that considered bad and only owned for the novelty value is maybe less than 20¢
Between this, the livestream where they talked about their food-related adventures through Europe, and more, I think Luke and Andy as a duo is a gem I can’t get enough of from Oxboxtra. Their ability to riff off each other and escalate the bit every time, I’m just laughing from one joke to the next the whole time.
I can picture him holding his arm up and using the wristband as a reference to explain how theirs doesn't look like the Pikachu on the band. I'd love to see that happen.
I can just imagine Ellen coming back to the studio after this: Discarded Pokemon cards littering the ground, stickers covering every surface, Piplup pinup hanging in the canteen, Andy furiously writing Sonic/Munchlax fanfiction and Luke entering his bank details for a Pokemon magazine subscription.
Only Tall Ellen & the Building Manager? I have to assume the canon reason is that Smol Ellen's cockney alibi fell through & she's now in Victorian jail. Her thoughts? "NAH, MATE!"
The building manager? Nah, mate, you know the building manager has more than two arms. This is clearly just Andy Farrant seeing as he only has the default two arms.
@@mar_speedman They never said where those extra arms are attatches, and we never se "Andy: below the waist in this video. It's the Building manager for shure hiding his extra arms below frame!
Watching Andy and Luke barely contain themselves whilst perusing this very serious piece of literature had me crying with laughter on a Saturday morning so thanks guys!
"no no no!... you are messing with forces you can't possibly understand.." and "show james what you've done!" cracked me up! loved the show thanks guys
I love that a) Andy somehow always gets in situations (sometimes even inadvertently) where he ends up quoting Raul Julia and b) that Luke doesn't realize that the quote is coming until it's too late.
So nice to have Show of the Weekend back. I've missed this vibe so much. I never knew I could be so entertained by two adults going through a childrens magazine.
Consider this; out these two fine young gentlemen, unless I'm not privy to some recent Oxboxtra history, Luke is the adult with the wife and kid. And yet Andy looks like the indulgent uncle patiently indulging his six year old nephew. All I can say is that Luke's child is one lucky kid to have him as a dad.
*Andy, on a oil rig in international waters* A: "foolproof plan. Striking it rich! *meanwhile, on a yacht somewhere else...* Luigi: "Furukawa San, I have that jabroni in my sights..." Furukawa: "...take the shot." *Luigi, grabbing his knife, cuts a tally mark into his arm. Finishes a cigarette and stubbs it out on his tongue* "It's the only time I feel anything."
I think by now James and Jon have accepted their lot of having to step in at any moment to be, at various moments, the token adult, dispute settler, and/or mayhem enabler. Often all at the same time.
I read the words ‘pokemon magazine’ in the title and the rush of nostalgia made me black out. Where am I? Who am I? Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire are about to be released for the first time again?? A torchic is standing on my chest telling me I’m late for something. We’re truly through the looking glass now, people.
My depression has been lessoned by each new release of Show of the Weekend. I may not be an active participant in this community but by god does everything about this channel make the dark times better.
Jup. The perfect stuff to watch when your brain cant handle "normal adult stuff"and you're to mentally burnt out to hang out with friends (and/or they're gone) but still miss the friendly chatter of utter goofballs discussing away about something that definietly maybe somehow matters...
The amount of Normal Adult Man energy in this video is almost off the charts - that was some entertaining chaos considering the evidently short notice and limited prep time.
@@matthewgroves2081 as someone whose spent a lot of time thinking about Pokemon and the Harkness test, I've now been thrown for a loop because one of my rules is that unevolved Pokemon can be adults of their species, but baby pokemon can't. But now I guess I need to figure out if baby pokemon are babies or just minors. Is Sonic in a relationship with a child or another teen? And that's before evaluating the sapitence of the Munchlax line.
You know how, in shows about people on boats for too long, they see a bird and they think, yea.. normalcy is within reach? That is how I feel about that SofW theme song.
The unofficial detail on the wrist band is a Pikachu lying down next to Lee Harvey Oswald, in the Texas school book depository, looking down some binoculars, a scoped rifle by his side.
This is literally one of the funniest shows I've ever seen you do, I love the desperation banter, when you talked about the super soldier I near died 😅😅
I love the vibes given off by every iteration of the Oxboxtra members, but there's something particularly delightful about the "different but equally impish variety of boys" energy exuded by Andy and Luke.
Here's a thought: with show of the weekend being just the fun parts now, maybe you could do a few episodes of gameplay and you guys just doing mini playthroughs? Anyway, love that the show is back, have a good day all :)
Videogame fact: It's a little known fact that the marriage between Sonic and Munchlax was a condition of the treaty that brought an end to thirty years of war between Nintendo and Sega. And they say this show lacks for educational content...
im severely in love with this very casual style of show of the weekend. it's so fun to watch and feels like a really refreshing and relaxed twist on the usual oxtra energy of fun and improvisational comedy
Got flashbacks of that one time when I forgot to bring the lecture I had prepared for a class of middleschooler, and had to improvise for two hours... I feel you Luke!
I can see it now. Andy going off shore to produce his own Pokémon magazine., and him referencing a submarine and the first thing I thought was about a certain Beatles song, since Pikachu is somewhat the Pokémon mascot... "We all live in a Yellow Submarine".
You may call this a minimum effort episode of Show of the Weekend. But in my case, I have watched and rewatched this episode 3 times already because the unscripted humor is the best!!
Andy and Luke are almost certainly the most chaotic duo in Oxboxtra. Kind of big cousin listening concernedly to the red bull fueled younger cousin lol Edit: Cardi B - WHAP down for xmas number one 🤣🤣
