Great help. Honda asked me 2000$ to replaced, I found this video, Bought Used module for 180$, took 1 hour to do the work with bleeding breakes, Thank you so much.
Before you do this--understand that it might just be a dirty electrical connector. Take the connector off the module and spray both ends of the connection with electrical contact cleaner. Let it dry and reconnect it to see if that's all it needed.
Thank you so much for making this DIY video! It gave me the knowledge and the confidence to take on this job myself. One thing I’ll share for others taking this on is you will (may?) need to drive the car a bit for the error lights to clear. I finished changing the pump/module and immediately turned on the car thinking the lights would be gone and they weren’t. I felt very defeated, but then after bleeding the brakes I was test driving around my neighborhood to make sure the brakes felt normal and all the lights went off. Thanks again!!
Holy Cow, after watching this excellent tutorial, I decided to have my small town mechanic do the replacement for me :) It's also freezing outside and I don't have a heated space to work in. Make sure when you do this job that you put down rags and really try to contain that brake fluid. I see this guy got it all over his frame and it will start eating at the paint and increase corrosion
Yeah brake fluid is a pain cause it does eat the paint. I had bottle of brake fluid in my toolbox and at some time it fell over and leaked. My tape measure! Man it was destroyed. The brake fluid messed up the coil spring which retracts the measuring tape.
Hi, thanks for the video, I have a question that I'm hoping you can point me in the right direction, I have a Civic 2015 4-door and the ABS module is bad as yours but my problem is that the serial number tag of the module is all wipe out so I can't identify the right module for my car, is it possible to know this with the VIN, is there any website that can help me with it?
I believe so. You don’t want all that air in your break lines. I have a video where I bleed the breaks after I changed the ABS module. You can check it out on my channel.
I replaced my abs module (with a used one) because two brakes were not releasing. It fixed the brakes not releasing problem…but now I have VSA light on dash.
@@diyelie Hey Elie I got a 2007 civic coupe. My abs light came on after I replaced the front knuckles. I changed the 2 front abs speed sensor and I tested both they're good. Any ideas? sometimes when i brake the pedal pulsate. After I pulled the plug on the abs module my brake light comes on . sEND ME SOME INFO. tHANKS
I have a 2012 Honda Accord with my brake, abs, and traction control lights on. after replacing all my abs sensors and getting the brake fluid flushed I finally had a mechanic tell me that my abs pump is bad. I'm hoping that I can do what this guy did to fix my car.

@ DIY Elie was your steering wheel stiff when turning with the lights on? My 2013 honda fit has the power steering light on right now. My steering wheel is a bit heavy when turning. I got the VSA 61-11 vsa modulator-control unit power source low voltage.
My abs solenoid went out and all these four lights came. I bought the part at the junk yard for $100 havent installed. How can u tell if this part is plug and play or do i have to reprogram

So this is happening with my 2014 Honda Civic but I took it to my mechanic but luckily the light went away I think my abs module was a little to dirty or might have had some water on it or something because without replacement the light went off

My 2015 honda civic lx has been doing the same. But its random. Some days itll come on 2 times, some days 5 times and some days 1 time. Mine turn off if i stop the car and start it again then drive about 100 yrds the lights go away. I went to autozone and they keep telling me that it sounds like a shorted wire somewhere or that something is losing ground. They dont have the tool to scan for stored codes The lights seem to come on alot more during the day andl ess at night times. So I think it has to do with heat, Probably,.

I bought a obd scanner that can get codes for the ABS from amazon for $105 called the "blue driver obd scanner", When I did a scan it gave me a code "125-1 abs modulator solenoid failure". That told me the modulator was bad. (Once got the codes I sent the obd scanner back to amazon to get my $105 back literally the next day , then I used that to buy a used modulator lol) So i bought a used one from ebay for $109 free shipping and replaced it following this video followed with a brake bleed. My car has 130k miles and this was the first time replacing it. I think the modulator failed due to very dirty brake fluid. I bought the car at 102k miles and never messed with the brake fluid . So im sure the previous owner never changed the brake fluid. Btw the replacement only took 30 min. I didnt have to program it either, Now my lights no longer come on, Its been 2 weeks and my car is back to normal :) . If you decide to buy a used modulator which I HIGHLEY recommended you do just make sure buy a abs modulator from the exact year,model and make car. As for the prices , You might pay more than me because I got lucky finding one for $109, Most of the abs modulators are going for $120-$180. if you have any other questions let me know
@@faizanjanjua5397 and one more thing, If you cant afford to buy a used modulator or a OBD scanner that can get ABS codes right now, then its ok. You can drive with the lights on without issue. Just dont do it for too long, Like a year long. Last thing, I would check your speed sensor for each wheel. Make sure the sensor wire is not damaged. Which can happen when you run over something like a rock or hard object. Those are usually the problem but If the wires are fine then I would start with a OBD scanner that can read ABS codes , Get codes, google the codes and go from there.
Awesome video..I have a question..My civic is 2012..I power steering light, Traction C, and Check emissions lights ..all THREE consecutively. IF I unplug both battery teminals..for 10 min.all lights are gone..if I drive it then..they all come back..did you have that issue after replacing this item..or did it permanently get fixed? Did the light ever returned?..I just want to make sure that the lights won't show up just cause of the battery being disconnected before i do this job..Much appreciated in advance 💯👍
My uncle has the same issues.. Dealership wants 1150 for the part and I checked maybe 15 junk yards and none have it.. Its a 2014 Honda accord LX 2.4. Any assistance is appreciated.
The module is what I install in the video. The sensor is something totally different. If you don’t know which one to change I would encourage you to get with a professional mechanic.
Hello, I just had a mechanic change my ABS module since I was having the same issue as the car on this video. The power steering and brake lights no longer show, but the abs and vsa still do. Any recommendations on what to do?
Thank you for your video. My car has the same problem. I was going to do it myself, but my mechanic told me that the ABS Modulator need to be reprogramed into the car's computer. Did you reprogrammed the ABS Modulator or the car's computer?
I had the same problem with all warning lights going on. I sent my unit to a company called XEMODEX in Canada for them to fix. If you replace with a new unit or used from a junkyard you will need to reprogram it, with a repair you do not. Cost me around $300 including shipping.
I didn’t do anything else other than replacing it. I heard some of them have to be reset by professionals. I think your best bet is to check with a mechanic.
What part number did you use to find a match for..Mine has a TR0B0 but I bought one that was a TRA0A and it won't read the module. Not sure it is is bad or wrong unit.
@@staidey5994 The challenge I had was knowing which numbers to match? I ended up sending mine off to Module Master and having it rebuilt and that fixed it. Down side was my car was down for 2 week. Honda Parts told me a new Module was $1050 and on Nationwide backorder so didn't have a lot of choice

I have 2011 Honda Accord with same problem, and error code 121-11, Honda Dealer asked $1600 to replace ABS module, and I bought a used one online for $190, (must be same year, model and trim, otherwise you need to program), and I just replaced the ABS computer part, but not the pump, this is the easier way as you don't need to bleed the brake. It cost me around 2 hours to get everything done!!! If your ABS module need to be replaced, for 95%, the problem is from the ABS computer. Because of long time vibration, the tin soldering is loose, that's the problem.
@@diyelie having the same issue and took to a mechanic. He told me I would have to buy a new one and get it programmed or send my original one to get rebuilt. He said the part is programmed specifically to the VIN. So you're saying, as long as I purchase the exact same one that is used, I don't need to do any of that?! 🤦🏽♀️ Maybe it was because I was a woman and he was trying to upcharge me. Thanks for the advise. I'm going to see if my son can do it.
