Save the comb, clean it up with low pressure air and reuse it.
If there is mold or mildew present, blow of as much lose material as possible and then immerse the comb/frame in a bucket of 10% bleach solution for two hours. Then rinse out softened pollen and other debris with fresh water.
Air Dry and put into storage, or re-assemble your hive.
Yes, there was some moisture coming out of the nozzle, the tank needed to be drained.
This air compressor is too small, I'm in the market for a larger capacity unit.
You can use air to blow off your bottom boards also.
The nozzle shown was purchased on Amazon. This is an affiliate link:

Quick tips are great. Because I didn't know what to do...I usually just cut the comb out of the frames because too much work to remove the dead bees...Yea...a new dawn, and now I'm going to fire up my compressor. Thanks a million.

Hi Fred. Gos i dont even know if youll see this but leaving my question here.....im 55 yrs old and my son and I have our first hive ever. Very new. Even tho ive watch a ton of videos and read so much information, now that i have a hive i wish there was an organized way to watch videos in order to help me know what to do next. So many videos out there for getting started and setting up but ugh now what. Im a little nervous and dont know a soul in this area to ask. Live in Provo Utah and feeling so along. Plus it is hard for me to ever ask for help. But i trust you and love all that i have learned. Hope my question makes sense and that you even see this.🤪🙂 thank you for all you do. You are one heck of an amazing human. ❤

Hi Megan, thank you for the wonderful compliment. There are many beginner beekeeping courses, likely because that's what most searches entail. There are online video based courses that you can take. I'm one of the instructors at TheBeeKeeper.org www.fredsfinefowl.com/learnbeekeepingonline.html You can also go to my RU-vid Channel home page and in the upper right, you'll see a magnifying glass where you can type in your search for a specific topic or demonstration. All Free :)

Great tip Fred. I didn't know that you could use bleach on a wax frame but it makes sense . Bleach kills a lot of bad bacteria.
@FrederickDunn
@FrederickDunn Месяц назад
I'm glad it's helpful. :) The bleach also dissolves most of the organic detritus while not destroying the wax structure.

HeyFred, can I use that air pressure to blow out hive beetle maggots after I’ve frozen the frame? Really like this video, I even gave you a thumbs up! God’s peace brother.
@FrederickDunn
@FrederickDunn Месяц назад
Hold my smoker! Jeff, aka Mr. Ed gave me a thumbs up? (';')( ';')...! My day is made! :) You're going to just have to try it out as I don't have any hive beetle specimens around here to test it out on. Thanks for stopping by :)

Thank Fred. I got my first swarm 3 days ago.. I made a 10 frame deep box 🗃️ but instead of regular frame I used a 5gl paint stick & I glue center pice to guide the bees when they start doing the drawing foundation.. my question is how longer I live then alone, before I check for the queen, I also want to change the cover to one with the feeder hole.. should I feed them on the first weeks? Or leave them alone..

I see LP air and I'm thinking liquid propane gas. Low pressure, I see. Wow that looks way better than using tweezers!

Can you show the type of rack you store your unused frames on, please!
@FrederickDunn
@FrederickDunn Месяц назад
I use a variety of storage, I've build wall-mounted ready-racks when I need frames fast. I also use Hive Butler Totes, and of course, I leave them in super boxes after cleanup. It's a mixed bag of storage options. I guess I should make a quick-tip on that. Thanks, Trish :)

Thank you Fred...I tap frames on stair and pull out the rest with tweezers...Will try this! Still obsessed about the bees not putting much honey in bottom deeps for winter. I rotated boxes April...What if I left the deep on top of the med for winter?
@FrederickDunn
@FrederickDunn Месяц назад
You are free to try that out, but I highly suggest that you keep some the same and unrotated for comparison.
@14623carolanne
@14623carolanne Месяц назад
@FrederickDunn Agree 👍 I didn't rotate all my boxes in April for comparison, just like you teach

When you say low pressure what was the PSI you were using.
@FrederickDunn
@FrederickDunn Месяц назад
90 psi, but it quickly falls off to 40 psi while in use. I need a bigger air tank.
@WildflowerApiary
@WildflowerApiary Месяц назад
so with bigger tank it’s better to set to 90psi?
@kevinwingert4754
@kevinwingert4754 Месяц назад
Duhh, hello. 90 psi is 90 until your air tank can not sustain that air pressure and it drops off. Get as big an air tank as you think you need for 10 to twenty frames, and take a break while it fills up again. 5 minutes is a you need before compressors shut off again. Repeat .Wear ear muffs. And watch out for bits of larvae getting in your eye. It can happen and it slows down your operating time, a lot. Dangers with tips.

This would work using an Avid Power Tire Inflator , Car Air Compressor (20V Cordless with Rechargeable Li-ion Battery , 12V Car Power Adapter , Digital Pressure Gauge , Portable Auto Air Pump for Many Inflatables) - a bike tire or car tire inflation devices - wouldn't it?
@FrederickDunn
@FrederickDunn Месяц назад
Not sure that those would have the flow-volume necessary, but you could try it and see.
