You don't have to remove the glove box lid like that. If you squeeze the sides of the glovebox to where the stops come out the glove box drops and those bolts are accessible. Way easier than what you're doing.

If I get one from the salvage yard, will it work in my car? I want the one with the auxillery port, which mine doesn't have.

RockawayCCW it’s hard to say but my first concern is that most vehicles stereos are programmed to the vehicles body control module so when installing it in another vehicle even the same make and model it will have to be reprogrammed by the dealership. The aux port should work though since it is on the radio itself and not in the center console patch

What is the smaller of the two wiring harnesses for? I can't find it anywhere online and was wondering if I could do without it.

That smaller plug has some things for Navagation and and audio common ground along with some audio out data bus wires. As long as you use Metra aftermarket wiring harness you will be good to go

The size of the factory stereo does not matter, but what matters is what size is the new stereo you plan on installing. All aftermarket stereo come in single din size and double din size. Both those sizes will fit your vehicle. Metra car audio makes all the accessories for installing your car. Visit the website for more info on installing your stereo

Yes but Metra car audio makes a install kit that retains all those functions. Check out Metra car audio website for more info

If I replace the radio will I have to worry about a diagnostic problem with the entire radio header showing codes? Can I just replace it was any old double radio header and have no problem? The radio head in mine is going to shit and I'm deciding if I want to get a better one and install a sub.

@@connectedcaraudio I'm fine with parts, I'm getting a pioneer single with a double wide bracket converter. I was worried with the diagnostic display that was a computer inside the radio that might fight or take out functionality. Thank you!

As long as you have the correct smart harness I don’t think you will have an issue

these cars are bias! you may lose all info ! pain in but! you have to do all this to replace ignition switch! plus remove cluster! and dont replace radios people they are vin number programed! there no more programs at dealership they dont make this crap car anymore! no other stereo works in them! you will lose computer info and lots of light come on codes ect...

Theres actually a thing called Metra 99-3303 it helps you keep your info (DIC)

Even if i replace with another factory radio? My radio has started to give me low volume on FM stations, which sucks because i dont have an Aux port so i use FM transmitter for my music. It plays the AM stations and XM channel 0 just fine. I read that it’s probably the antenna in the radio.
