Remove Inspect Fit BMW E60 520d Turbo 

This video explains what happened and the symptoms of a turbo that blew its oil seals. It also shows how to remove, inspect and refit the turbo.
The video also shows how to change the turbo housing, which I had to do so I could attach the turbo heat shield.
