Thank you so much for this video my HDD came in the mail and I was ready for a simple 10 minute swap and then the screws got stripped. This video saved me so much stress I really appreciate it, luckily I had a small drill bit and screw extractor on hand. Fun fact: I always knew I had a screw extractor but never knew what it was for lol I just assumed it was an extra piece that came with a drill bit set I bought long ago. First time using it and thanks to this video I was able to finish my PS3 hdd swap.
Had this exact same problem with my PS3 phat. All housing screws tight as anything and stripped each of them as they just weren’t budging. My pa used a grinder to literally make a massive flat head groove in them which meant they could easily be removed and retained. I’d try this as solution 2 before drilling them out. Both HDD and screws were saved this way. Great vids mate.
