If your car is an Asian brand, DO NOT use a Phillips screwdriver to remove these two screws. Doing so will strip out the screw heads. These are not Phillips screws. They are Japanese Industrial Standard screws that only look like a Phillips screw. The only way to properly remove them is with a JIS screwdriver which you can order on Amazon. PB Blaster and a JIS screwdriver will make removing these a breeze.
