Thanks for the video bro. Good to know what direction to take when I want to undo my paint job with relative ease. Goof Off is the shit! On another note, you have shown that a well-applied rattle can finish is a lot more tougher than I ever thought it was.
Thank you bro. I restored a 1960 johnson motor with this stuff, removed spray paint from a car, and numerous other things since I saw this video years ago. I did fuck up a nice gun because the can looks like rem oil and I grabbed the wrong one, but it's all good and I learned my lesson.
Thank you a ton bro! You saved me a ton of hassle with this video. Bought a 19 that someone painted Tiffany blue, got a good deal on it but hated that blue!! This vid helped a ton with getting it back to a it’s original glory!
Work great no issues. Bought a sniper grey glock that previous owner painted black. Got it all off within 30 mins with 3 tooth brushes. Thanks for the tips!
I appreciate it. I'll have some new content here shortly. Went through a big move and have recently acquired a new camera and some new toys. I'll have some new content up shortly.
I know the Glock lower receiver is made of high strength nylon based polymer but was wondering if the Goof Off will do any damage since it's almost like Acetone?
Apologize for the delay. About damaging the polymer I did not notice any wear or damage from the goof off. The lower frame looked brand new after removing the paint. I 100% recommend Goof off for this process.
I tried using the goof off on a Glock 17 I’m trying to take the orange paint off and it isn’t working at all I’ve had to use a dremel tool to get majority of it off why is the goof off not working. I’m using the same can and spray of goof off in the video
Why are you dipping the brush in water? You gotta rub the goof off with out the water. Your neutralizing the goof off with the water. You can also get polymer safe paint remover, works fast and won't damage the plastic.
To get the excess paint off. Worked out great. I'll look for some polymer safe paint remover next time and try it out. I lived in a very small town of less then 1500 people at the time and big store we're about an hour and 15 minutes away so I used what was in town.
Bro I dunno if you have much experience with good off, but BE CAREFUL! I worked with it in a deep shop sink and it blacked me out... Soaks into your skin instantly as well rough stuuff
I was looking at this cause I found a sweeet LWRC M6IC SPR on gunbroker that had maybe 200 rounds through it but it had this god awful tan w/ green reed stripes camo. Bid started at 1500, which you NEVER find on an LWRC but nobody even bid.. Probably cause of that camo.. I mean, with the Timney trigger, Vortex LPVO, Strap, and other extras that thing should have been easily 4k. so there's probably some good money to be made by just finding stuff like that, investing a can of goof off (as long as it doesn't also remove the factory cerakote or whatever is under the rattle can job) and re-sell for double.... Just got to be patient until deals like that come across and account for shipping, FFL fee's, and local/federal laws but I easily come across at least 10+ deals like that or better per week... Only thing is, who knows how long it'd take to re-sell them at full price...
Before u painted the gun did u sand any of it first. I used a scrub pad on my ar and am thinking of taking the paint off. Was wondering if the scrub pad made scratches
DId this leave a bunch of gross funk from old paint and the goof off on the final end result? Reading some people had to use dawn and hot water at the end, if I can avoid water at all to clean it up at the end I want to.
Haters gonna hate, just remember that the whole reason behind the complaint was coming from all those beto males that had a hard time handling a recoil that's intended for Man! Weak hands ✋️ homie Weak ✋️ LOL 😆 😂 🤣
the finish on that slide is not bluing. it is put through a chemical process in a salt bath, which creates a hardened case on the surface of the steel. you're not going to remove that with acetone.
Try doing an ak47. Lots of pain in the butt nooks and crannies bro. I'd like to add that glocks have tennifer finish. If you paint over a parkerized finish...... you're gonna have to do alot more work. You're not going to get that factory look. That stuff dries out metal and gets light gray. Oil may or may not save it
HAHAHAHA!! Nice. You also probably say stuff like: "I once knew a guy who could clean a fish in 60 seconds." (said while sitting back and watching another dude clean fish)
