There's another reason to save these older washers. They were built better than the new ones.

Thank you for this video!! Do you have idea regarding how to clean the holes inside the washer drum? I’ve seen rust in those areas of my washer too. 😢

Hello! What if there is rust accumulating on the lid/lip of the actual washing machine (not removable) rather than the lid? Also, will the appliance spray paint be safe since the water will be touching our clothes?I believe I can still remove the rust with a wire brush, and I bought some rust remover spray. Really appreciate this simple step by step!!!!!

I see you adding a t-shirt for the screws. I think I'll do that for any possible rust particles too. Good tip

On the machine is fine. You can see at the 6:09 mark where we tape off the areas we don't want painted to prep the machine for painting. Appliance spray paint is what's already on the unit so yes it's fine. Good luck!

is it neccesary to paint?

Hi! Yes, we recommend painting. Painting will protect the metal from moisture and help it last longer.

@@YouFoundTheFix thank you. Any specific type of paint for this?

@@ss_websurfer There's paint specifically for appliances. We recommend those.

@@YouFoundTheFix just did this. It was tough. To remove all the rust. There is some that is impossible to take off. Can I still paint it? Also, would you recommend two coats of paint?

@@YouFoundTheFix this was harder than I thought :( for anyone reading make sure you aren’t painting on a windy day. I did that then I recoat it but you should not recoat epoxy until it’s fully cure apparently… which is like 24 hrs. If you do it before your paint wil crack…. I tried to sand the paint away and recoat again but I cracked it again because the paint went into some areas that had paint… again epoxy cracks if you recoat and it isn’t fully cure. I don’t know what to do about this anymore.
