Thanks for the info, and the knowledge that I'm not the only one that has things go wrong, like the lost chip incident.👍

To grind down the chips, you could use a sanding block or a piece of sand paper taped to a flat surface like a table top. Then apply a piece of tape the contacts side of the chip and use it to rub the plastic side of the chip against the sand paper. Rubbing against a fine file will work too or a sharpening stone even better. You're pretty handy with the Dremmel to Polish plane the material down but man that's a little too accident prone. Be safe. Thanks for the great video.

Meant to add that the drum sander/grinder attachment for your hobby tool (I don't want to use trade names, mine isn't a top of the line model, but its done me for years at a fraction of the price) will do a great job of sanding and smoothing the plastic and is more controllable for delicate work.

Why instead of removing the chip, not simply drill a hole in the genuine cartridge and fill it when necessary? The only downside would be to not be able to see the cartridge levels, but isn't that way more simple than buying those cartridges, a dremel and cutting the chips ? (never tried any, just curious)

You are right. You can do both ways. If you want to use the OEM cartridge, you can have a scale to weight the cartridges.

Would this work if you just put a piece of tape onto the metal contact? I don’t have a mini saw so I’m trying to think outside the box 🤔 *(thanks and great video!)*

@kevin - Thank you for the information. Would these work with only startup catridges chips or any used should be good esp with HP+ . Thanks in advance

If the colors become mixed in one cartridge of this type, can I wash it with water, let it dry and refill? Somehow my yellow got some black or blue inside and now looks green.
