Love that extractor, used one yesterday. Drain was coming off in pieces but had no problem getting it out with the extractor

Very helpful video, thank you. One minor suggestion though: let the on-screen text stay up longer...some of it disappeared too fast to read ;-)

Nice honest work. I heard your price at the end and looked like that was labor only and he supplied the material. What do you normally charge for that repair? Also, that phone call for the toilet you got. How much do you charge for that full around job? What’s your trash remove fee of old toilet?

Not a pissing contest but have to share, your video title triggered memories. I had to remove a tub flange In a 150 years old house. Tub was original per a plumber. Every tool made to remove them did not work. Tried like 3-4 of them. I had to cut it out with an oscillating tool, metal blade. It’s probably a ceramic tub, doesn’t sound like steel or look like it from the bottom. It looks like farm house sink material Anyways … it didn’t just come out once cut, it needed to be pry’d off in very small sections. It’s sucked, but I got that “bitch”. Saved the tub, and is leak free today. I mention it, as you talk about no training. Same, overtime of 10+ years of not hiring a “professional”, you just learn to figure things out. You can do the same, just get Started, learn to problem solve. You’ll get to the point you Don’t even need to use YT anymore 😂I assure you, there is no YT on stubborn 150 years old flanges. Just need some stubbornness and get her done attitude. It helped it was my house, so the risk of ruining the tub was on me. The plumber I had swing by basically said “nope” .. he knew. Another quoted $2800 - tub flange, ptrap, and tie into copper train pipe. $150 in parts/tools & my time … got it done. Some proof you can evolve into a: Jack of all trades, master of none … is better than a master of one!

He explained why due to the condition of the tub drain sealing surface damage. He didn’t apply any of it on the threads so potentially just need to break the seal with a razor in the future. Great idea with the heat gun.
