I liked straight pipes when I was younger but it’s to loud for my old ears now.

My son is in Houston. He is very busy.

Still have power but Wednesday they are calling for up to an inch of ice. If that happens, it’s gonna bring trees down and power lines.

@@bctruck Yes, they say around here that limbs begin to come down at 1/4" of ice. We've approached that a couple of times over the last few days. With a forecast like yours we go into "hurricane preps". Have lived through several ice storms of that magnitude. Fill bathtubs with water for flushing. Fill sinks for at least one round of hand & dish washing. Canners filled with water on the gas stove for hot water. Contractor style water cooler and other containers filled with drinking water. Oil lamps, filled and placed where needed along with matches. Extra quilts at the foot of each bed. Take as much as possible out of the refrigerator and put into the freezer. Put the rest from the refrigerator into an ice chest. Open cabinet doors under sinks. Hang blankets and bath towels (as applicable) over windows for extra insulation. Often clothes pins will work for this. Get some type of camp stove setup to make coffee!!!!!!!!!!! Learned that lesson in 1996 and haven't forgotten it to this day. All that said, I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir, as you're probably better prepared than we are to deal with an inch of ice from freezing rain. wednesday, we have some wonderful tree breaking Ice coming!!! Id rather send that than our balmy temps!

I was hoping I could get them all cleaned up, waxed, polished and shiny but it’s way to cold.

I’m gonna make a bracket from some aluminum flat stock to fix the bags.

It was before O2 sensors so no affect on fuel mixture. You have to be much more careful now when you make changes to exhaust flow. Every change now requires a change in the fuel map.

@@bctruck Good to know. I am still "likely" getting a new bike before the end of winter (when the snow lets up) but nothing near as fancy as those. I am thinking a Softtail Standard. I like a stripped down bike and it is the only model HD makes that currently appeals to me.

I’ve found that Harley doesn’t make deals because of seasonal changes but you might get them to throw in some goodies before the winter is over.

I am but I’m not gonna ride before I get the new tires on them.

@@bctruck Okay, I just did all that,--in your direction, of course. youre right, it does sound closer. See what you can find, blue dye wise., and let me know.

The ecm can make adjustments to the fuel map to accommodate the minor modifications to the exhaust flow. There are no oxygen sensors so the fuel map is not complicated.

Everything hurts wether I’m sitting or standing. I can get down just fine but I have to crawl over the the work bench to pull myself back up.

@@bctruck Try one of those 2 step folding ladders. Several different styles. Set it beside where you sit when working on something. Perhaps, that would serve the same purpose as your workbench. In my shop, I have a low stool, on casters that helps me get around without having to get up & down so much. Thanks! I have a stool on wheels but sometimes I have to get right down on the floor. I guess I should keep my eyes open for a lift.

@@bctruck That's where the ladder comes in handy. Use it to pull pull yourself up. Perhaps a single sawhorse would do the same thing and be a little more steady. Then a "lift" may be something on your perhaps in the future list.

Bev has a generator. We have one. My only real concern is when the ice comes Wednesday that we have trees come down.

@@bctruck - I know you have chainsaws, and you can clean up the aftermath, so it's only a matter if they fall on something important. Do you have the ability to cut down or trim up any trees in the danger zone?

No. This is not a ladder climbing body. It’s mostly a recliner er body but I make it do other things.

I hate loud music. It bugs the crap out of me when I hear the loud boom music going down the road. We all have to suffer through things we don’t like. For everything you do like, there is someone somewhere that is angry or bothered by it. I just live my life the way I want to and you should to, because someone is always going to be upset by whatever brings you pleasure.

Andy Jones I agree with this. I have a road king, put s&s power tours. Too quiet, pulled the baffles. After 7 yrs riding this way, I'm putting the baffles back in. Too annoying on long rides, and I'm over the whole volume thing. Also, living on a busy st, there's nothing worse than all the bikes that go by, stopping conversations, revving unnecessarily, the tuner cars, and the worst of all are the recent convoys of mopars driving down residential streets at 80mph, drifting around traffic circles, etc. These dipshits are the new mustang drivers. I'm so old now 😃
