Did you note any loss in back pressure? What about exhaust volume; was it significantly louder? I am looking to do the same but am considering install of DK Customs TTI for back pressure.

I know this is an old video but I’m wondering if you vented the lower end through the transmission top. I had a 17 and vented it’s top and it smoothed out the motor big time. I am picking up another 17 next week and it looks to have the stock mufflers on it. I will be going this route should they still have their baffles in them.

Nice view. After you've ran it some, did you have any of that packing walking out? I'm thinking about doing something simular but pulling it all out and putting in fullsac baffles or something like that. 18 ultra.

I have now about 500 miles on bike after outer baffle removal. Also put the k&n kit on with the Vance Tuner. Ran the tuner mode and it fine tuned the bike. Runs great! Wouldn't change a thing. Anyone else have any luck on their end?

Hard to hear it with your camera mic. I have a '17 ultra thats bone stock. Im torn between ordering a set of S&S MK45 slip ons... or butchering my stock mufflers to end up ordering the S&S mufflers later and realizing i destroyed the stock mufflers🤣

Did you remove the insulation inside the pipe ?

The reason why it’s taking too long sometime you need to bits to drill bits one gets all the other ones one out of threads

Okay, you've removed the baffle, now when are you going to dig up in there and pull all the fiberglass out?

Did u have to tune it for exhaust?

It’s so much easier to remove the mufflers 1 @ a time and use a 18 “ 1/4 rod and open up the center of the bafffle it is only crimped. That lets it breath more and a little better sound .it really woke up my 21 st.glidespecial

Nothing downstream of the cat affects the warranty

instead of removing it completely can you just drill through the center crimped end maybe using a 1.5 inch hole saw. just a thought has anyone tried that.

Wonder what would happen if you just drilled out the crimped end . Drill it out and see what it sounds like. ANYONE DONE THIS YET??

Stock pipes sound like shit. I watched your vid and decided to give it a try. The left baffle took 5 mins to remove and the right took 3 mins to remove. They still sound like shit....just louder shitty sound.

Why is it a bad idea to take the packing out I was thinking about doing mine but don’t want to mess it up

for sure the community will appreciate the shit sound of a Harley with no baffles

Does removing baffles from pipes do damage to the engine? I got a 2007 dyna super glide with extremely loud pipes... me personally I love the loud sound But I got a friend telling me I should get some slip ons or something with baffles so I have back pressure on the engine I guess if there’s no back pressure it’ll blow up or wreck your engine? He brought up an example where his friends had the same engine as mine and they rode way way harder than me to where every gear they upshifted to was like 8000rpms. And they blew their engines out So anyone ?

Great job on destroying your powertrain warranty. I see the intake on the floor. Means you remapped the engine. Not done by Harley mechanics on Milwaukee 8 motors(bye bye warranty) .
