In today's video I make the best of what I have. Some handles broke in the kiln during bisque fire, so I cut them off and sanding them down to make just a plain cup. Please always make sure to use safety when performing any tasks like this.

This is awesome!! I’ve done this many times! Lol. I’ve also left the top of the handle on and broken the bottom half off and left a “hook” like handle. Lol. Great idea especially when you’re handbuilding and the mug takes much longer than a few minutes to make. Have you ever made paper clay for cracks? It works beautifully! Also bisque fix is another option for cracks. Can’t wait for your next kiln opening.

Lol. I’ve done the hoof handle thing before too. I’ll have to look into the paper clay and bisque fix. Is that all for after being bisque fired?

@@tnlpottery4294 Yes they are. You need to bisque them again when you use those. Also be sure to sand that area after you fire them the second time. I have fixed sooo many cracks that way. Hobble Creek Pottery is going to be showing a video of how she fixed a big crack on a mug she made so look for that any day now.

Hi @tnlpottery4294 - is it possible to do the same white a already glazed mug? and can you /do you need to re-glazed the mug/cup ?

Yes you can do this with a glazed cup and you can add glaze and re-fire. Although remember it does take longer for the glaze to dry at that point.
