Having lived in a farm cottage for nearly 10 years in the early 80's I can confirm the decor is generic and spot on! I had a BSA A10 and a Triumph Tiger in my Kitchen for a while as I didnt have a V12 tank engine at the time. Good times!

You know this used to be a more common thing in Europe around the mid 40's . Farm House , Tank engine in the front living room . Of cause it usually came with the rest of the Tank and crew attached . Oh they knew how to have fun back then , they made their front doors back then !!! . Nice to see your keeping that tradition alive .

Have you ever tried a sack barrow at both ends? Very effective! Lift with the sack barrow then drop in a timber block between sack barrow and load to keep it on the wheels! It works!

Not that I've ever done this before ;) but fence post across the door frame and a winch mounted on it works a treat for dragging big stuff down corridors.

The Merlin/Meteor were actually designed to fit through a standard 30" doorway.

That was sooooo fun to watch!!!!! My brother and I are of the same ilk. We were notorious for building 429 interceptor motors in our upstairs apartment. I built a killer 650 Triumph up there too! Never did get the smell of the 90 weight gear oil outta that place. Didn’t get our deposit back either. Our friends would come over to help us drag the latest build down a rickety wooden flight of stairs. Someone always got something pinched or smashed in the process. It all made for great memories. An alternative method of extraction, start up newly acquired little yellow crane. Attach extended lifting beam, poke it through the top opening light on the front window, attach suitable lifting frame to engine. Take the strain giving clear hand signals, hook up Foden to the rear of little yellow crane. Then on count of select reverse on both vehicles and 3 hit the accelerator pedals simultaneously. Sorted

Well I did have a vintage Atco motor mower in my bath for a while in one of the houses I had. The bath itself was half full of red diesel which was supposed to loosen off something or other so that it could be more easily removed. When i sold the house the mower was still there and the buyer didn't even ask about it.

im still shocked that wooden floor could take the sheer girth of that engine in the first place.

The big Model V-2 Model V-2-34 38.8 L engine easily weigh around 600 kg and was quite reliable and easy easy to maintain. It is perfect for indoor decoration aside some smashing here and there! 🤣😅

The engine is a thing of beauty and would grace any gentle persons abode👍

Never used to use the lifting strap like pictured,but used the proper lifting lugs on the engine mounts

And my girl friend complained about me having a 4x4 Panda Engine and Gearbox in my front room. I knew she was being unreasonable 😂

It all started when I sprayed the frame of my bike and put it in the Front Room for the paint to harden. Yes, you’ve guessed it - the entire fully-built bike ended up there! Oh what fun we had manoeuvring round the bends in the hallway and through the kitchen (door frame removed) to get it out!

A V12 In a living room that is so wonderfully ridiculous that this video deserves to have a million views.

Someone I knew had the same problem but he had radial engine in his dining room.he had to chop up his dining table and chairs and burned them on his log burner to get it in. He completely wrecked his patio doors taking it out. Ripping the frame from the wall but the guy who bought the engine helped him board the patio doors up. He went to B&Q in his van to get some sheets of plywood when we got the engine to the front driveway for it be loaded into his van. His miserable wife stormed off to her mother's as soon as the glass in the patio door exploded. Moral of story is. Send the Mrs shopping when your moving big engines in or out of the house. They simply don't understand anything more than shopping. Clothes. Make up. Mobile phones. Anything past them just confuses and annoys them.😂 PS the engine was a Pratt & Witney light aircraft prop engine. 12 cylendars. He kept the propeller for his wall up the staircase. Used it as a handrail which I thought was a stroke of genius by him. His Mrs hated it. She kept catching her nails on the locating bolts. Women eh ! They're not together now and the guy seems happy about it. He replaced the engine with a pinball machine and a motorbike. More room now. He replaced the Mrs with a scruffy mongrel dog from the shelter and named it Christine the same name of the X Mrs funnily enough..see him walking it all the time. Big grin on his face 😂
