I feel the same way when I look at the videos that I have put out and wonder why I still have subs and all I can come up with is that they are Loyal and Great People!!!! Can't go wrong with that!!!!
I noticed you didn't remove the washer from the governor stud there is a little washer under the governor wheel that you can't see very good it will come off and break something in the engine.
Can we just disable the governor without disassembly? Or hook up to open the governor? We used to simply wire them back. Of course that was decades ago. How can it govanate if unhooked from the carb or wires wide open?
The issue with that is you have a plastic gear with metal bits attached to it that wasn't designed to go over a certain rpm. The gear gives up and you have parts bouncing around inside your engine

The governor closes the throttle when the rpm gets too high. Removing it allows the engine to rev to its full potential. Stock engines cant handle much of that high rpm abuse
Nah the big block clones are too expensive to mess with. For the cost of a GX390 or clone build and Torque Converter i can use an ATV or Motorcycle style engine and have more power.
