This is my old 2005 Mk5 VW Golf Comfortline, which I tried to upgrade the factory head-unit on with another VW factory head-unit. I think it was from a Golf GTi. So I filmed the exercise to show you how to remove the current head-unit to hopefully help you one way or another.
I’m no mechanic, trim remover or stereo installer but I’ve found that you can go things a go and it can be satisfying and save some $$ along the way!
As you’ll see it’s pretty straight forward considering it’s a VW. But compatibility issues got in the way of my upgrade.
I will do another video on my 6 years of ownership of this car and the issues I had, including the positives and negatives on it in another video soon. I can say it was certainly a journey.
