My channel is mainly for the basic home mechanic who likes to tinker, play and have a go themselves. A. to save $$$ on labour costs, B. to have a go and get satisfaction in doing things yourself, and C. to do it in a safe manner.
I'm no mechanic, but I love to have a go at things where and if I can. If I can do it myself, you know I will definitely do it :)
I hope you enjoy my channel as I go along a improve from each video to the next. From time to time I will post videos of life in general and other things.
Hi mate, just a quick question, my key fob on my 2005 territory takes a fair few presses sometimes before it locks or unlocks the car, iv also changed the battery to new one but it still does the same thing. Sometimes it works perfect but alot of the other times it takes alot of goes before it unlocks or locks, could it be the whole fob?
thank you...I was a bit worried about breaking something when prying apart so I just gave the other side of the joint a slight poke and it instantly came apart.
Thanks bud but I think you got my missing screw extra in your parts bag. I had one of the double ender screws missing, 3 needed only 2 supplied, so had to use a self tapper into the plastic clip. Looks the same but I know the truth and it really bugs me. Arrrrrrgh! 🤣
No worries man. Hope it helped. Yeah I must have gotten your extra screws lol…it’s such s pain when screws are missing. I think had the same thing happen and I contacted the company they sent out a whole new bad so I had extras of everything.
Hi, helpful video. I was going to remove the whole throttle body as per the instructions on the SCA can and then clean it. I think I will just keep it on and spray , and hopefully not damage plate.
Good job mate appreciate the video, Just about to order the belts and do mine. Would have been nicer to watch it in landscape rather than portrait mode though.
I don't have a fob, only a key, and my unlock button inside the car is broken. I can't get the car to go into this programming mode for the life of me. I've even tried rolling the window down and activating the power locks by putting the key in the door and turning it to lock then unlock the car with the doors closed. Then pulling it out and flipping the ignition 20 times. Can't get it to let me program my new fob.
Good job mate my humble suggestion would be get yourself some Bendix blue ceramic brake lubricant, and just put some on the very end of the pads where the metal slides are and on the slide itself. Maybe even remove the slide pin and put straight silicon grease on that…. And when you press in the piston, all the black burnt brake fluid gets forced back up into the master cylinder, and I find that you don’t want that so you better off to crack the nipple at the caliper and get an assistant to pump the pedal and just bleed, the caliper until the fluids clean again the first bit of fluid on those fords will come out black as the ace of spades because it’s been cooked on account of being underbaked……. Only my suggestions, I’ve got a BA and it’s the same set up. But otherwise, it’s very satisfying to do these jobs for yourself ……..!! PS - and I found while you’re there for the sake of five bucks. Get yourself a stainless steel bleeder nipple from a brake parts supplier and swap it out with the steel one that comes standard on the car you’ll never have trouble with them, seizing and snapping off in the caliper…….
No problem mate. Thanks for the feedback and I’m glad it helped you out. So good to get things done yourself right. Remember to subscribe if you haven’t already…keeps me going 😊
Exact noise my territory has. Will anything change from spec or will territory throw a code over time if resonator is begone ? Its concerning that noise. Just makes the car sound like rubbish
@@678ville thankyou for a reply. My 2006 AWD was a $1500 car. I'm actually thrilled with it but it's taken years to get it where it is. I'll get rid of that thing as you have and put a pipe in place 👍 . It's got a left bank fault code or something my mate found. Will address that when he's free. Best thing about the car is it is a shorter falcon tho raised. Good Barra motor. It's winning my trust as the years till on and things are getting sorted out on it
If it’s the same shape Kia Rio it will or should. If it’s the newer shape model then I’m not sure. You could test it out if you haven’t already and let me know 👍
@@user-ik7yg4ob4e ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R46PxPgytrc.html here is the video. Hopefully it guides you to changing the battery and hopefully that's the issue
With the clamp put the old pad and use the pad to push piston back in as doing it like he has will damage piston an it’s rubber the pad gives a even pressure on pushing the piston back straight
Can you please send me the link or place of the aftermarket key you got please? Did u have to get it cut too? I have the 2006 Ford Territory Ghia Sy will it work?
My only 2008 Rio FOB recently lost connection to the car again. I have tried the 20 times key cycle, no luck this time, no response from the car after 20 cycles. Tried by removing power from the car for a few minutes and then do the key cycle thing again, still no flashing indicators or central locking cycling. This regular pairing process worked a few times in the past, but now it seems that function has stopped working. Any ideas?
