This video I put the JFJ Easy Pro to the test to see how deep of scratches it can really fix. I put some deep scratches onto a disc rendering it completely unusable. Lets see if the JFJ Easy Pro will make this game work.
before all these tech's came out, i already made homemade scratch remover. i was a kid at the time too. i used to help my friend's dad sand paint off cars - buff with wax after cleaning the car. i learned that wax help cover scratches on cars so it looks new. my first attempt was to use coating on cd's it fail. then i use grinder and applied thin layer of sand paper grid on the side and grind it. first few attempt work because of uneven grinding. kept on doing it with very little pressure and developed craftsmanship and able to perfectly grind it even to remove deep scratches. all my friends didnt believe it. so i asked if they have any games that was scratches that they dont want and they gave it to me. the first game was final fantasy 8 and it i was able to remove it and played that series. i ended up having so much ps1 games that i was able to recovered. only if i had a mindset about business couldve made millions
Hi How Are Ya you mean instead of a new disc not I quote . For just 10 cents a day you can help these (in need) of a new disc .that makes no sense also 54 people have a lower iq for liking your improper sentence
I think your right, my tv is sorta brand knew (not 4k tv, and really don't care about 4k) and when i play ps2 games, it doesn't feel like im playing a game in the 2000s, its like I'm playing a game FROM the 2000s. I miss the old days 😔💔
HDTVs and UHDTVs are the best for HD consoles since PS2 and original xbox. PS2 and original xbox have 1080i. Just get an hdmi adapter and a cheap working hdmi upconverter cable so it can look the best. It will look excellent on hd consoles and UHD consoles
That game was awesome but I scratched it cuz I lost the case I could still play it but only Miami would only load halfway and nice wouldn’t load at all
Dude, you are a RU-vid legend as far as I am concerned. I just love your reaction to that game finally working, classic!! I thoroughly enjoyed your journey man and I was willing the whole time, for it to all come good in the end for you.... and it did...hooray!! Everyone knows what it's like to have a dvd or a game disc that is too scratched up to work, it's proper annoying and choices for getting them fixed, without venturing to your local game store, or whatever, to have it resurfaced on one of those super dooper $1500 machines (£1200 in the UK), are quite limited. Well done man, you have given us all hope that a quality home remedy exists. Now all I've gotta do is go and try and find one of these things this side of the pond, hopefully without breaking the bank. Wish me luck!.... P.S. just a great job on the video man!...peace to you!
True older consoles are better on those tv's, or there are video adapters that connect av cables to hdmi on newer flat screens. Basically these adapters connect most older consoles to flat screen tvs.
bro i watched you so many times and this was my most favrioute video i watched from you and this did help me bro i recommend the jfj easy pro for people if they ask me
😂😂😂😂 0:41 “I went to go scratch it up” 1:40 dropped the disc 2:13 “get the nuts” 2:56 it looks like the scratches are gone 3:20 it’s still scratch 3:46 still scratched up 4:30 it worked, but... 4:37 I thought 5:00 better? 5:28 the tv screen 6:18 true 7:09 did it worked? 7:29 IT WORKED!
THANK YOU SO MUCH Mcfloppy,MY MARIO PARTY 10 WORKED JUST THE WAY YOU DID. THIS CHANNEL NEEDS A 10 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS. AND SHOUT OUT TO THIS AMAZING RU-vid.
Glad you are still using a CRT today, it’s the best way of experiencing old gaming hardware platforms since LCDs have terrible upscaling even manufacturers don’t care about component anymore. My CRT 120hz monitor is part of my multi monitor setup and it serves as to run my Windows 98 Virtual Machine, and component video capture since OBS studio can project full screen to another monitor. Also my LG DVD slim drive can read damaged DVDs but will take a while correcting those errors
Love how your "fix it" vid turned into a "reaction vid" @ 7:29.....great reaction! You seemed genuinely shocked! I got the "ring" scratch on my COD Black Ops cd, which is how I found this vid.
SUPER SHERD..... I would assume you found this vid because you are wanting to resurface a disc, or discs. Did you ever get a disc resurfacing machine / run across a DIY method that worked?
That jfj easy pro looks like it's worth having if anyone has systems that takes discs to play. Thanks for showing us that Mcfloppy, maybe in the future that thing will still be useful
Have you had issues with the center part of the disc being scratched due to tightening the cap too tight, causing scuff marks, now disk can't be recognized. would appreciate help
it mainly happens when i am using the sanding disk, must be doing it up too tight i have since cut out a round microfibre cloth to fit under the cap that screws in and no longer have that issue, but have several disks unreadable due to scuffs on the center bit
Cool vid. Glad to see it worked! Although I'm really starting to dislike optical media as a whole because I have discs that barely have scratches and barely work properly. Very annoying. BTW, what's that Double Dragon 2 looking item on the table? At first I thought it was the NES game, but it looks like a DVD case or maybe a book. What is it?
"0000" steel wool (the finest available) works too. Do not use anything more coarse than "0000". Don't press too hard, using small circular motions, just go slow until you see the surface makes disappearing. Also, automotive scratch remover works (the clear-coat on cars is very thin so this is entirely safe for acrylic coating on discs, also on clouded headlight plastic).
Game boots up..... "IT WORKS PERFECTLY". No, it boots up perfectly. CDs are read from the inside out so you can't say it works perfectly until you play the whole game because I think that some data later in the disc will be unreadable.
Well, actually, DVD's on the original Xbox are read from the outside in. So if it managed to boot the game, it has already read the part of the disc with the worst scratches.
Mini-anthrax perhaps the reason why it isn't blurry,is because it's a very old model.newer flat screen tv's will result in blurry picture unless it sets in at 4:3 ratio.
long time ago, i took my gamecube game that was really scratched into a shop that had a resurfacer. The guy said after he was done with it, it would work like a charm. I get home, put the game in, didn't even start. I took the disk out, looked at it, it was as if the whole disk was just one giant scratch DX
Looks like I need this device so I can fix every disc I have , (over 4,000 games on disc since TG16 CD Rom was invented moving forward), and then I will invest in a professional Y Fold re-wrapping machine so I can make them like NOS again. Thank you for this video, as lame as it was to hear "Oh My God" every time you tried it out, that last "Oh My God" near the final minute was worth hearing, and it made my mind up to buy this thing! Good video bro, thanks!
I’d really like there to be a device that creates a new layer of plastic, due to concerns that resurfacing again and again would destroy discs, as well as repairing cracks in the center of discs!
I had no idea this was even a thing that you could do. I guess I really don't understand how compact discs work. I would love to resurface my copies of Crimson Skies, Morrowind and Turok.
The part of the DvD that is read by the Xbox is sandwiched between two transparent plastic layers to protect the data, all this machine does is sand down that plastic layer until the scratches are gone so it can read the data layer. It kinda works like cleaning a window.
this would be perfect for the games i've have that are too scratched up to play and it would be perfect, when I find cheap games that are too scratched up to play as well.
I found this awesome all in one cheat for Mortal Racing :) facebook.com/Mortal-Racing-Unlimited-Gems-Astral-Gems-Cheat-572331939582870/?pidid=804709ea-b31b-4095-aa5f-367987477ac7 Removing Very Deep Scratches with the JFJ Easy Pro Disc Resurfacer
Don't feel bad about ruining Madden 07, not one of the better Maddens. LOL! Seriously though this is a nice helpful video. I appreciate it as someone on the fence about purchasing this.
Did it work for you? I've heard mixed reviews about this and it isn't cheap. I wanna play Fable on my Xbox but the game occasionally crashes, it has 3 semi deep scratches on it.
Damn that's impressive, i wish i had this a while back, my friend gave me a shit ton of deep scratched PS2 games but since they didn't work i threw them away. :(
Unknown Material he is only Smart normie you should know that old TVs work well with old consoles on btw the original x-box is way better that this new shit
Bro a question, i have a mario kart double dash for the gamecube. I went to the professional disc repair resurface game store. They cleaned it professionally (disc resurfaced machine) twice, first time highest level and second time on a lower level. There are no scratches at all, the disc looks almost brand new, however, when i play it, it all works, except when you go from one level to the other level. Then i get the message on the screen to turn of the power button of my nintendo, i have the same issue with the wii and the gamecube while playing this game. Please what seems to be the problem? Should i go to let the disc to be repaired professionally again?
I had trouble with the sandpaper staying on while doing gamecube discs. Had to glue it down to the pad. It did remove some very deep scratches to the point of looking new again. The game still won't boot unfortunately
jimmy perkins I have the machine. All you can do with blu ray discs is buff and polish. NO sanding. Sanding removes the coating on the blu ray discs and ruins them. I've ruined several just experimenting. The jfj works well on cds and dvd though.
Is the JFJ Easy Pro it or are there much better Pro resurfacing machines out there in the same price range that can make a normal scratched PS1 & Sega Saturn game disc look like they were taken out of the seal when bought new without any scratches? I mean a resurfacing machine that won't tell if it was resurfaced or mint (100%) pristine?
I wouldn't get too excited just yet. ALL optical discs read from the center outward, meaning that you removed all of the scratches from the beginning you quite possibly Not all from the entire disc. A complete gameplay will tell. Another go with the machine may be needed.
This actually isn't the case. The laser starts at the inner section of the disc to collect a small amount of information about the contents of the disc and their location on the disc. It's generally known as the lead-in, and each track on a disc can have it's own lead-in and lead-out for defining multiple sections of a disc. After it reads that, it quickly shifts to the outermost ring of the disc where velocity is highest. The further the data is from the center of the disc, the faster it can be read due to the disc's rotational plane paired with a fixed maximum rotational speed. As the laser is forced to move closer to the center of the disc, the data is read more slowly, which is why developers of games work hard to move the most important data to the outer rings of the discs when making the final masters for their games as part of the optimization process.
I'm a scratch phobe when it comes to audio, dvd and games and that's just the superficial scratches that doesn't interfere with the diode. Never have I had a disc like that one you got there.
This thing seems so awesome like something you would see at GameStop I've seen one of these things but much bigger at a game store called play n trade video games also you sound so innocent lol :D
I would suggest saving your money and do what I've been doing for the past 8 years... use *Meguiar's PlastX* for the minor scratches and polishings and use *Brasso* metal polish on the deeper scratches, following up with PlastX. I have tested pretty much everything recommended to get these scratches out sans buffing and this works like a charm unless you have some serious issues with keeping your discs clean!
