Removing Vintage Ceiling Fans From An Abandoned House 

if I was the owner of that house, I would've taken the vintage fans with me. but its a good thing you got them before they got thrown away.

We had that first fan you took down in our living room in the house I grew up in. We installed it around 1985. If I remember correctly my grandmother got it for my parents as a christmas gift. We hired someone to wire, install the box in the ceiling and to install the fan. It was still there when my parents moved in 2003 and as far as I know it is still there to this day. It made absolutely no noise other than the sound of the air moving on medium and high. Ran cool on all speeds. It was a really good fan. Ceiling fans were very trendy in the 80s. So glad my house I own now (built in 1984) was wired for ceiling fans, so I can control the fan and light separately without using the chains.

All the fans in the house have the same type of motor. The last one simply have it's blade screws loose.

The only thing I would have salvaged off the last fan would have been the light kit.

I am about ready to do this as I am sick and tired of NEWER fans breaking down all the time in my office.. one was the windings and the current one is the light switch.. and NO it cant be replaced... if anyone says it can let ME know PLZ!.. not a typical fan.
