Our schools in the UK continue to educate kids with the poetry and words from old bards like Shakespeare and Burns, they need to scrap all that and teach from the book of Ren, probably the most important wordsmith of this generation.

For me this should be on the radio. They probably won't play it because the sponsor wouldn't like it but it's such a necessary message. That you are good enough, that you are beautiful and if you believe it, if you really believe it, it doesn't matter what anyone or anything try to sell you.

The song also targets things like clothing brands & cosmetics. It's within the line, Where Beauty is sold on the shelves, forbid that we find it in ourselves. It's like kids being bullied because of not wearing the top brand clothing or women who believe they need makeup to feel beautiful.

Hey Ash! 55M renegade here. Loved this reaction. As an older man, one of my biggest worries is coming across creepy but, in light of today's selection, I just wanted to say: I love your look, your eyes when done up kick ass. BUT, you look most amazing on a day like today. I appreciate your commentary. Great to hear it's Men's mental health month. When I first got treatment in 1997, my therapist said I'd already beat the odds because almost no men get help before it's too late. The changes in how getting help is viewed in the last 25 years has saved a lot of lives. Thanks to artists like Ren and individuals like you shining a light on how common it is, the stigma of even letting people know your struggling is maybe 10% what it was. Keep kickin' ass!

Hey thank you for raising awareness of mens mental health. Only just discovered you by being a Ren fan, mostly because of how he makes it ok for men to talk about mental health. I will look through more of your content, I hope there is more Ren. He made me talk about my feelings.. as a 45 year old man. As i said im new here, but Ren saved me. Sometimes forcing that smile does more harm than good because it’s going to come back to bite you at so point. 💯 correct in my opinion, if you’re pissed then be pissed, if you’re sad then be sad. Ash I love your reactions. The "easy bop, kinda chill moment made me smile. As someone who is struggling and surviving on about 2 hours sleep a night I haven't got on with counselling or therapy. I listen and tell them what they want to hear. I have recently started a zoology course focusing in reptiles and amphibians, and it's the best therapy ever. Love from the UK

I loved this reaction, and THANK you for saying what you said about the 'grin and bear it' attitude. I have had so many people say that to me and as someone who has a personality disorder and chronic anxiety and depression, sometimes you CAN'T just smile and fake it. Your brain chemistry says, "Yeah, I know everything is going well, but we're gonna' go over here to this dark corner anyway." Sometimes you can just fake it 'till you make it, but that isn't the case for everyone all the time and sometimes you need a little chemical intervention, even if it's only temporary to get your brain chemistry back on track. The thing so many people don't get is that sometimes Homeostasis isn't easy to get back once it's knocked out of whack. Also, your Discord invite in the description says invalid when I click it. I'm gonna' look you up, but I thought you would like to know :) Thank you for this reaction! I love this song!

Reality tv and the internet, the bad sides are so extreme,it’s influencing so many young people, tv and internet should have a positive and negative switch, we should have the power to do this ourselves instead of the way the people who govern it make algorithms that can drag people down a slope of negativity. Thank you for an awesome reaction as always. Great job at highlighting “spiritual bypassing” gaslighting, people/spiritual movements telling to you hide your emotions and be positive is not ok or realistic.. We have been given ALL these emotions for a reason, to experience them, to learn to deal with them, understand them , recognise they are reactions , warnings of merit too! If you need help and medical support that’s very ok. Being told to pretending your emotions aren’t happening and wishing them away solves nothing and isn’t a long term way of dealing with life. Till I learnt to feel and process my anger, bitterness and unhappiness and accept it’s ok to feel ALL these “negative” emotions I suffered terribly. Pretending I didn’t feel these emotion and mentally punishing myself for not feeling positive or seeing the good in everything kept me in a cycle of metal torment. The “ everything thing is a blessing or a lesson” bullcr@p, life is cr@ppy, messy and hurtful and that is it , no lesson ! It’s ok to be angry and bitter at life for a while and then let it go.

It didn't take social media, it's just turbo charged it. Just watch Mad Men, the post WWII advertising game was boosted by WWII propaganda experience. Rosie the Riveter needed to leave the workforce get back the kitchen and have dinner and a martini ready for hubby after a days cleaning and taking care of the kids. Leave it to Beaver, Father Knows Best were scripts for this reality. Go back to the Victorian era, look at advertising and expected roles then. The 1920's 'Flapper Era' was a brief moment of rebellion, partly fueled by speakeasy culture and jazz. Male frames are also harmful, but in a patriarchal society, it is old white males that establish and maintain it.

Hey did we share t shirts that said done that. When I was young I came from a family where mom and dad beat the crap out of each other and I blamed me. So I was in black metal hardcore goth when goth was new. But after years of depression and suicidal tendencies the man that hated God for creating him accepted the free gift offered to me. Not religion,not denomination,not cleaning myself up first. Just picking up the Bible and believing it cover to cover. All I had to do is believe Jesus died on the cross to wipe out my sins. And NO it is not my place to judge anyone. I still am a Christian headbanger. I hope someday you will find the peace I have in me.

can I go off a little rant for a moment? It'll go a bunch of different places all at once so just bear with me. 1) The folks who say you have to love yourself before someone else will love you is full of shit. Don't ever think for a moment that just because you're having issues with yourself, there's not a person there next to you who absolutely loves you and worships the ground you walk on. And if YOU love them and trust them, you have to believe them when they say the love you even if you find it hard to believe. 2) For those of you who love a man - be you a she, he, or they - if that dude opens up to you don't you DARE. EVER. Throw that vulnerability back in their face. They will never open up to you again. They will never be vulnerable again. And when you go off with your girlfriends or boyfriends and bitch that "he's so closed off, he doesn't talk to me anymore" it's because he tried to open up and you violated that trust. The most you'll get to "How was work" will be, "it was fine" or if you ask how they're doing they're going to tell you "Fine" and it's not fucking fine but they don't trust you anymore to talk about it. You ruined that. Good job. I'll stop now. But you get the idea.
