By the production of the drums, I'd say this was part of the original tracks recorded when he was with Sony. So this song is likely 12 or 13 years old. He put out the album 7 years ago. We need to coin a new genre. When you can master every genre, it's called Ren. Dude is mind blowing, and your reactions are FIRE!!!! Peace.

He mentioned in the Justin Hawkins interview that like 6 songs or something were done in studio for the album he was working on with Sony, and after they dropped him he wanted to finish the album so he did. I’m pretty sure this is one of the songs with Sony. Listening to the album you can tell which ones were done with Sony and which ones weren’t. Many of those songs on the Album are near 10 yrs old or older which is crazy to think about. The title track “Freckled Angels” is like 12 yrs old. He has a live performance of that song on RU-vid. It’s wild. He’s been at this for so long and due to illnesses he’s been sidetracked…He’s now finally getting his due and I hope he only blows up even more. He’s a genius and everyone needs to be aware of it.

This is one of my favorite hidden gems. Something I found interesting. Ren now has a Wikipedia page. In the genres section, Bardcore is listed. As far as I know, this is a word that HE made up to describe his style. That is WAY funny. The page lists over 20 genres.

It's funny, I've heard this track so many times, but I don't usually think of it when I'm giving out Ren recommendations. Considering how much I love the Chilli Peppers and Alien Antfarm's cover of Smooth Criminal, this should be the top of the list. But the list is SO good and SO long!

I've never seen a reactor who exhibits so much REAL enthusiasm! It's a joy to watch. About Ren: his genres are generally not the kind of music I enjoy. But that kid (to me, that's what he is) is out of this world talented. Is it possible to be scary talented? If anyone can be described that way, it would be Ren. When a song like this one brings a tear, it's just because unbelievable talent (yes, and skill) works that way for me.

I'm an old man, but I've spent a lifetime loving music, playing in bands and working in recording studios for a while, but Ren has blown my mind like no other artist has. INSANE! I found some ren-gems today also. I highly recommend checking out The Big Push, a song called "Slow Down," but it isn't released (yet) and the only place I could find it is in the LiveNation Live from Home video. The songs are labeled on the stream, "Slow Down" is listed as "Finger Mash." I'm hooked!
