60 year old Irish guy here. Almost a year ago now Ren's was "the voice" that I heard. The rope is still there in the shed. A reminder I suppose. Renegades will know what I mean. Thank you Ren!! I recently discovered you through my husband. You are an incredible lyricist. Your takedown was a human response, expressed through the artistry of not only your impactful music but your stunning visuals. Nothing wrong with that. It’s clear that you are more than capable of speaking up for yourself and that you don’t condone mistreatment of any kind - including that which you experienced at the hands of Kujo and his team. As someone who has dealt with chronic illness for 12 years, your music resonates so much - to the point of tears. I completely understand the need to stand up for yourself (something I, myself, have only learnt to do in the last few years), to etch those boundaries. I also know how it feels when you’ve come so close to being swallowed whole by an illness that won’t go away, that grates on your very being. Once you have experienced those depths and barren wastelands, the last thing you want to do is waste your time with fucking nonsense - and unnecessary fucking nonsense at that. I’ve just heard both the Beat Down & Sick Boy for the first time - I believe that sometimes life throws things at us to spur on not only growth but creativity. I worked in finance & it made my illness exponentially worse. Now, I tutor kids of all ages English/ English Literature & I’m writing a book (although I still have to face those negative internal forces that ask me: “who are you kidding?!”). Still, this wouldn’t be my situation had my symptoms not escalated. My thought is: you wouldn’t have made that truly incredible track had the Kujo situation not happened….

Given Kujo stole someone else's work, then sold it as his own, then made all these stupid accusations, attacked (along with his GF who out and out lied) Ren who frankly was innocent in all of this is just mind boggling. I am so behind Ren on this. Sick boi hit so many things inside me as a medical provider and as a person. I shared it with my mental health providers who all shared it with their colleagues. It was education as to how we pigeonhole our patients to their detriment because of becoming jaded. As a provider you can never become jaded, no matter HOW many times you have "seen it all." Because you haven't and the person you destroy is the person begging for help. Ren keep dancing in the light my brother!

He had a business encounter with a very disrespectful individual who thought that he could take advantage of him because he was soft spoken. My friend stood up to his full 6’3” height and said, “Please don’t mistake my kindness or politeness for weakness.” You have also been kind and polite (at least in the beginning) and it may have been perceived as weakness. You may not be a Kung Fu master with hands and feet as deadly weapons, but you are a lyricist whose pen is a weapon that can be used for great good or defense.

It's funny, "Hi Ren" showcased how it looks when these two forces of light and dark come into battle/opposition with each other. The dialogue between the two sides at the beginning here shows more of an understanding and acceptance for the other - kinda like allied forces - and, ultimately, the light accepting the necessity for the dark in this scenario. Love it.

Ren walks in art with such honesty and gentility, it’s absolutely thrilling to experience. The stories he tells us and himself are raw, sometimes rage-filled, sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes tender, poetic and violent, not needlessly brutal, no bravado, only real pride and real love. Both apart and part of. Open heart and intellect.
