Ren has quickly become one of the most exciting artists of our time over the past year.. Im completely in awe of this mans fearlessness and creativity and talent.
Unparallelled creativity and ambition, and masterful execution by himself, his friend Sam, and their team. Filmed in England while on break from his treatments in Canada. This was his biggest project yet, with a budget of a whopping $1250. Imagine what he'll do once he settles into his success, and gets his feet under him. An artist for the ages, unlike anything we've ever really seen I think.
Is that budget confirmed? I only ask because I was speculating what I thought it would have cost and I figured maybe, at a push, it could be done for £10k - which would have been about $12k at that time. And if that’s the case, and my estimate was that close, I’d like to know :) Edit : wait…I just realised, you said $1200 not $12000! How on earth did they do it for a 1/10th what I thought?! Wow…just wow.
@@sputukgmail I got the number from an interview he did with Black Pegasus a month or so prior to filming - £1000. It's definitely a rough figure, and could have changed as his idea evolved. It's a great interview. It was recorded when Ren was in Canada. Sam also makes an appearance, he was over for a visit. It's when they recorded For Joe.
@@justinatest9456 ahhh - in that interview they say it’s the first time they spent /over/ £1k but they didn’t say what it did cost. Having just watched the behind the scenes vid from Wolf that Ren put up, I doubt they could hire that lighting rig for the time needed for £1k let alone the other costs of hiring the place, extras, food, flights, camera kit, the gun…but I did learn from one interview that the grand piano cost them nothing which is incredible (apparently Yamaha donated it for the shoot, got it there, tuned it and everything at no cost to them, because they see the benefit of being associated with Ren as an artist I assume). Samuel says in that video that it would usually have cost 10x what they did spend…so I’m back to thinking my estimate of £10-£20k might be close.
@@sputukgmail Ahh that makes more sense. I figured there was some good will involved here and there, but that wouldn't account for everything that a video like this would require.
I love how Ren does silent counts using hand signals for the orchestra people behind him so they know when to start. The first time he uses his hand to count to four and the second time is when he sits back down in the wheelchair while he's holding the gun. it starts raining and he waves the gun back and forth 4 times and I'm on the fourth time that's when they start playing again. He also does it in the live acoustic version of murderer. But with the signals he uses for the other guitar player it start and stop. He'd wave his hand and the other guitar player would start playing. When he wanted the guy to stop he would put his hand up in a closed fist showing the universal hand signal for stop. He's such a genius.
Crazy how he carries. HIs musicianship, story telling, acting, composing, general artistry. People are saying he composed the piano and string pieces. Don't know but damn, if he did.
He is including all of us as complicit in the money game. And this song is not just another ‘ride.’ This is a fervent warning. It’s a cry into the darkness that we HAVE to stop the game before we commit suicide as a species.
This is filmed and recorded live with only one cut. After he's in the wheel chair and the camera goes behind his back.. they cut to rig for the rain. They only had one suit for Ren, so the second "half" could only be shot once. No pressure. Lol.
Great reaction 🖤 This is a stroke of genius Hi Ren, Money Game, Tales eyeopening mashup masterpiece. This will change the game for a lot of people 🤯 Open your eyes world, or we are most certainly screwed 🥺
And if you notice it stops right as he answers the phone, and I think right on North, Central and South America.. Also in a blink and you miss it, he also adjusts his shirt and tie, to continue the story in to the demise of Jimmy
Ren made a new channel with the VOD from Twitch that he did after the song release. Also Knox Hills reaction he showed behind the sense videos from the video. Id definitely check them both out. Great reaction for a great song.
I don’t think it makes much difference listening to this first. But absolutely check out 1 and 2(lyric video)! They are all artistically and sonically pleasing. Creative as heck.
Any of us chasing a paycheck are part of the money game. I'm not sure how many will wake up enough to remove the money bag and noose from their head, but some including Ren see the tragedy of it clearly. The only real commodity you have is time. I don't think music will contain him for long, he'll be making his own opportunities to act and direct, no doubt. I was getting Al Pacino / Scarface vibes from that. What a performance. Awesome.
i can´t understand why they did this. really dissapointing. no one would start watching lord of the rings with the third movie... but thos two... sweet baby jesus...
Darkness of Capitalism ... to the extreme of course to show a point.... Definitely at least one cut with the whiskey bottle showing near empty to near full
Have you guys reacted to crutch by Ren? It's one of his old songs but its a masterpiece and very underrated. I'm ashamed to say I only found it quite recently
An invading illegal occupation and a whole race of mostly women and children being erased from the earth while the propagandized West cheers the hellish hypocritical gen*o*cide on. Beyond tragic and disgusting.
