Believe it or not, their chemistry and harmonies are ten times more impressive (I think) on their other duet "How to be live (live version)". Definitely check out. Also, if this song was right up your alley, you should also react to his latest track that he dropped 2 day ("Fred Again Mashup"). I absolutely love your reactions! If you want to hear some Ren that is just fun and not heavy give "Losing it," "what you want," "down on the beat" etc. You are a beautiful person both inside and out. Regarding Chinchilla, Ren refers to her as a musical sibling. Some solo stuff to definitely read to includes "Fingers (live)," "Little girl gone" ( both the official music video and the acoustic requiem version), "elements," "cold water," and " cut you.off". Look forward to seeing your future reactions
I know I am quite late to your reaction to this song but I hope you will see this. Never apologize for expressing yourself. Especially when it comes to Ren's music. That's why so many of us listen to him. He pulls the raw emotion from us. For some of us it's the only way we *can* feel. It brings to light topics that we need to talk about, that all of society *should* talk about. The first time I heard this song I cried. Like *really* cried. Ren and Chinchilla put into words how I feel in a way that I never could. Many years ago I was put on depression medication and it did nothing for me besides make me feel nothing inside. I didn't care about anything, good or bad. I'm 50 years old now. At the age of 17 I began having issues with chronic pain in my lower back and my knees. I was on several medications for the pain and none of them really helped. I began to have severe anxiety because I kept thinking "When is the pain going to hit me again?". After a couple years I made the decision that I could no longer go through life on these medications so I stopped taking all of them. Going through life feeling dead inside was not worth the limited help I had from them. After a while I learned how to deal with the pain, anxiety and depression on my own. I have my highs and lows but I accept that now. I push through the lows the best I am able and enjoy the highs when they come. Now I'm rambling so I guess I'll stop here. My point is, never apologize. When you express your situation and feelings like this you will find others and know you are not alone. Sometimes knowing that there are others out there going through something similar is the best "medicine" you can have.
I appreciate your realness! Some people in my life don't understand why i watch reaction videos. I have two reasons: 1. Some are knowledge fountains and I want to learn. 2. Others, like you, are human beings being genuine and I want to feel connected.
Thank you for sharing some private parts of your life ... Ren does that. He opens up the conversations and makes people think. Keep just doing you, and keep doing Ren please! ❤
The chalk outline metaphor is generally assumed to be the outline police use for a dead body, however Ren is on record as saying he leaves his metaphors a bit vague so it works and helps anyone that can use the support
Im also from sweden i have autism and add and I was on meds for 10 years being high Sensitive being shut off from emotions for 10 years made me cry lookin at funny stuff and laugh lookin at sad stuff feelings was misplaced for a while i hope you are doing well, thank you for reacting to ren and chinchilla ❤
Nice reaction Petra. You got it. Even botox that freezes the expressive muscles of the face actually flatten or remove the ability to have the emotions that they express. If you liked Chinchilla in this (Daisy Matilda Bertenshaw) you'd love her live performance of her song 'Fingers - Live for HungerTV,' or 'Little Girl Gone (Official Music Video). Her rabbit hole isn't yet as deep as Ren's but equally fascinating and brilliant. There is a reason she and Ren call each other their musical sibling. Here is a snip of my big 'Ren story' comments related to this song: Part of his misdiagnosis (see 'Sick Boi') was bipolar and ME/CFS, he was put on many drugs including Diazepam (see the video by that name), that made him hallucinate and was in part with the Lyme infection cause of psychosis and a sense of derealization from the drug he hoped would help (see 'Chalk Outlines').
People who are open about their feelings are neither stupid nor naive. Quite the opposite. They are so strong that they don't need a mask. Likes you without mask.
Just an absolutely stunning duet !! Their chemistry together is amazing. The line, I'm scared of being okay cuz all things change, just cuts like a razor. Great performance!
Great reaction Petra. Ren is very diverse and unbelievably relatable. And while he is a unique and amazing rapper, he also has a great singing voice. Chinchilla is also on another level. They have several co-labs together and she has outstanding solo stuff out as well. As always, I wish you the best.
I will never get over how beautiful her almost crying/pleading comes down to such a soft amazing outro. They really know how it looks to just survive a song.
Thanks so much for that reaction, you really get it, and feel it too! You show a lot of perception, compassion, common sense, eloquence, perspective and wit. And I don't mean 'for someone who's not an old fart', it's a rare and precious combination at any age. Struggle, learning, pain and growth are always going to be facts of life if we follow Socrates in believing that the unexamined life is not worth living... And so are wonder, joy, exhilaration, love... I really, really really think you will love Ren and Chinchilla's "How to be me (live version)". Like really really love it!
Thank you for sharing a bit of your story. I really resonate with everything you said. 💔❤️🩹❤️ Ren’s music has been really transformative for me and I hope you will do a deep dive into his musical library. He is not afraid to delve into to subjects related to mental health that s may find taboo. As you are finding out, Ren is incredibly versatile and based on your reaction to this song, I recommend you check out his latest live video, which in an homage mash-up to another artist, Fredagain. I also think you would especially enjoy his earlier solo original work, such as: Dominoes and Diazepam and… Oh too many to name here! 😊 As for Chinchilla, she is phenomenal in her own right. She has a few collaborations with Ren and her solo work is definitely worth checking out. I always prefer the LIVE versions of their songs and hope to see them LIVE one day soon!
Sometimes it is very difficult to be over-excited when you have seen a song reacted to over 200 plus times, but you certainly didn't disappoint with your raw emotions, really felt your tears and joined you. This surely must be one the best live performances ever, it is mine! You will LOVE then doing " How to Be Me LIVE " and my favourite is " One Dance/Drunk in Love " them busking in Brighton. Chinchilla is such a brilliant artist and her " Fingers Live for Huger TV " is my all time favourite female live performance, you will see why if you watch it!!! ( Loved your honesty with your own story as well )
thank you Petra for your sincere reaction and honest input....this is an amazing song and duet.....gotta check out "how to be me" with Ren and for a true intro to Chinchilla "Fingers" live....as an ADHD/Autistic individual I relate quite closely to the points you shared about your experience....it can get quite difficult at times, yes....but no worries my friend...you seem to be quite a wonderful being... and BE-ing , Here Now is all we ever have and even the worst moments will pass faster than we may think they will when they arise.....all is love ....SMILE
Short heads up. It was indeed not the first live performance you saw of Ren as Hi Ren was also recorded live on spot (singing and guitar). Thank you for this reaction ❤
When a reactor feels a song the way we do, it's special, so thank you for being real & vulnerable. You will like his new acoustic song that just came out. It's a take on the artist Fred Again. It's a mashup of his songs in Ren fashion.
Just another random Ren-egade stalking the interweb for Ren reactions, Thanks for your reaction Petra great to see your reality, truth and honesty for a little upper to lighten your day try any of the Ren Loves Music 1,2,3 or 4 tracks very uplifting.
As someone meant to say, check out "How To Be Me", Ren featuring Chincilla. Also "Ocean" and "Humble" with Ren featuring Eden Nash. These are all songs that you will love. You will have to get to Suic*de eventually, although it's hard. I wouldn't watch it for a week after it came out.
Nice to see you again Petra, it has been awhile! I recommend that you react to HEART (ALONE), the most kickass lady band from the US, ever. Wish you and the little girl well, too!
Hey Petra, Good to see you back in the reaction saddle... oh boy what an artist to react to!... Ren is an anomaly, he is much needed in our cynical society.. May I make a suggestion and you listen to the "Bongo bong" by "The Big Push" Rens band... Such a cool upbeat and happy vibe... a perfect antidote.
Yes, I agree with the last comment. It's actually called how to be me, but you have to listen to the live version. Just a great reaction to this song though. I just subscribed
Another very well done Ren song/video! Although this video definitely, 'fits,' Ren's style - I was expecting something different as the song/video began. I don't even know why, but I quickly realized as I continued watching that it was going to remain Ren's style.
This brings a real depth to song. When they started to sing together was a great sound and harmony. Your story Petra and the way you have dealt with illness I really admire and "Why am I afraid" is a song I will always listen to.
By the way, you might be interested to know that Aurora has two new singles out.
