Losing his best friend to suicide was soul destroying for Ren, but what made it even worse, was his friends body was never found after jumping from the bridge. And I just found out this is not on a rooftop as many people thought, but was shot on a bridge.

This is such a beautiful, haunting and sad song. A song dedicated to his lost friend Joe Hughes. Ren wrote a song specifically dedicated to Joe called 'Speckled Angels' There are various versions on YT including: 'Ren - Freckled Angels - Live At The Regal Room' form 11yrs ago. 'Ren - Freckled Angels'. This is the audio only version from Ren's album of the same name from 2015. Then there is 'Ren - Freckled Angel'. An early version of this song from another of Ren's channels , ren love music

I feel every bit of this song. I've lost all of my family. My son committed suicide & my daughter overdosed, My g'kids were taken away from me & I can't even see them. They surround me so I live with death all around me. I've lost myself. During the holidays I just sat there like "who are these people? I have so much guilt. I've cried out to God cause sometimes the pain overcomes me & I don't understand. And I don't know how to live without them. I have literally pounded my walls cause sometimes it hurts so bad & the fear Baptized me. I remember the most when I found out about my kids my sister kept telling me "breath Kathy breath. This song is giving me so much healing. I have words for how I feel & the pain is getting better because I'm not alone having those deepest feelings that people just don't understand. I love you both. Your love & how much you care for each other so much. When he asks you how you feel. That melts my heart. Thank you for even your reactions. What he's done is getting people talking & supporting each other.

I love your reactions. You two are such beautiful souls. God bless you. Ren's best friend, Joe Hughes, committed suicide; he alluded to it in one of his songs, stating that he lost his best friend before he was 25. The pain of this loss is evident in a few of his songs, "Freckled Angels" being one example. It is dedicated to Joe Hughes, who went missing on the 27th of December, 2010. "Chalk Outlines" is still my favorite song, partly because I can relate to it due to my own daily struggles. Although, losing your best friend to suicide is also something I experienced when I was 19 y/o (almost 38 years ago). I hope you will continue to dive into Ren's catalog.

Probably one of the most emotional songs in his catalog, thanks for reacting to it! When you were saying his music feels like healing I think the English word you're looking for is 'catharsis', it's definitely what I get from his music and he does it so well. However if you'd like to see a happier more playful side of Ren he has that as well! Take a look at his Love Music series, they will definitely make you smile. :)

I know I'm late but I just started going down the Ren rabbit hole. I've watched so many reactions to his videos and hands down yours is my favorite. As I recently discovered, Ren also recorded a cover of “Can't Help Falling In Love (Elvis Cover),” that is simply beautiful. Then there are his performances with Sam Tompkins (“Blind Eyed,” “Earned it /Mans World / Falling,” “Walking on the moon/No Diggity”), Eden Nash (“Humble,” “Ocean”), Bibi (“Crutch,” “Ahiahiaoha”), Molly McKinna (“Penitence”), his former bandmate, Romain Axisa (“French Song”), which are all great. Ren's performances as a member of the band "The Big Push" (which unfortunately broke up), their busking (street performances), concerts, and their live recordings, are awesome and well worth checking out. Ren's covers of "I Shot the Sheriff," "Wade in the Water," "An Englishman in New York," “Bongo Bong,” “War Pigs,” the songs "Oh My Woman," “Swan Song,” “Sweet Little Lady," "It's Alright," "Watch Out," “Dignity,” and so many others are equally impressive.

I had Ren, Hi Ren pop up on my feed about a month or more ago. And I kept ignoring it. However, after about a week of ignoring the video...there it was at the top of my feed still. So, I relented and watched Hi Ren. Wow! You and your wife sum it up so well; the feelings and regards towards Ren. In a weird way, I have a love for Ren. And for you two as well. I feel the same way about them as you both do. I’m American and I had never heard of either of them Until Hi Ren . Ren and Chinchilla do a cover of the song Sexual Healing by Marvin Gaye that won’t make you cry 😅❤ Their voices are so good together.
