Every babe I brought home in the 70's heard this on my turntable. Thanks Jean-Luc as it helped me get lucky.

July 2024: I've been going through my mixtapes from the late sixties on, to get rid of them, but I found this piece on one of them. It was my favorite piece of music then, 1976, and with the random nature of mixtapes, I have it back. Every instrument works so perfectly with each other. Magnificent. I've gone through decades of intense music analysis and come back to this track.

So i was in Pittsburgh Pa. I guess late 80's early 90's. Ponty played at a tiny little bistro. ( saw Grace Jones) the next evening ..nevertheless. He called out to the crowd.." what do you want to hear next"...they knew not his music.jean luc said " really..come on" I was actually front row; after hearing the crickets, shouted out.." renaissance! Cosmic messenger! Passenger of the dark parts 2 and 3"!!. Mr.Ponty said " okay then...buy this man a drink".they did. Saw him again live with Return to Forever ..ih maybe 30 years later at Humphreys bye the bay in San Diego. It was beautiful again.Stanley Clarke asked we have a number of accomplished artists here on stage. ( i am paraphrasing) what do u want to hear? Again crickets... so i shout out " Peanut Butter!!" Because of course Lenny White was on the drums...long story short..they brought out Dweezil Zappa and went through a magnificent musical anthology JLP..my all time favorite.

I walked into a Record Store in the 70s and this was playing. I bought the album there and then. I imagine that happened often. This is a piece of music I can never get tired of listening to. The seamless interchange of violin and then guitar and then piano taking the lead is euphoric.

One of the best albums of all time. We are still out here in 2020 just blown away at the truth and beauty in this music. Influential on many levels. You can feel the spiritual nature of this music, much like the deep delta blues, it just resonates in the soul. Thank you for what you do.

I am privileged to have developed my music appreciation in large part to compositions like this. The individual parts are given equal and fair solos, yet come together as needed to maintain comfortable continuity.

OMG, l heard this (The RTTF version) on Sirius today, and it took me back. I thought: "Hey, l owned this piece once!" I searched and searched and it's an album that got stolen from me, along with about 400 others...not a happy story, but at least l now know who it is, and l can own it again! So freakin' happy! Love Jean Luc-Ponty...❤️!
