@@illyrosen9772 "Lapfox Trax" (now known as "Halley Labs") is a fictional music label created by Emma Essex, previously known as "Ren Queenston." ⠀ Emma creates a wide range of music, and releases said music under a bunch of different names (people here call them "aliases"). A few example of these "aliases" are Renard, Kitsune2, Rotteen, Jackal Queenston. Those are all names Emma has released music under. ⠀ Each alias co-responds to a different music genre. For example - Renard = Breakcore Kitsune2 = Chiptune Rotteen = Rave-type shit Jackal Queenston = Drum n Bass Emma makes some pretty out-there music. ⠀ It seems like a lot to take in, and it sort of is. Emma has a MASSIVE discography, it's hard to believe all of this stuff was made by 1 person, but it was! ⠀

Because Emma is an independent artist who works on the support of his community and not by some contract fucker, who keeps most of the earned money for himself. Also she wants her music to be free to listen to and creative common, and this contradicts to spotify's/any other music streaming services's business model.

The short answer? Because the artist doesn't want it to be. She disagrees with the way the compensate their artists so she chooses not to support their platform. The slightly longer answer is: despite undeniably being unique, original, and (imo) transcendental in the way the artist utilizes other musicians' works to create something that is greater than the sum of its parts, this artist makes very illegal music. I don't know much about Canadian copyright laws, but I do know that the reason these albums can easily be on RU-vid instead of Spotify boils down to the way they handle monetization. I'm fairly certain that most of Emma's music probably gets ads run automatically and the royalties are paid fractionally to every artist (which RU-vid has the intellectual right to host) whos music was sampled. I could be wrong about this, but I've thought about it occasionally and this is my best assumption.
