I am glad to hear so many good comments on the Italian diva. A versatile artist and a true opera stylist. She’s great here but she will always be remembered by Madama Butterfly, la Traviata, Rigoletto, La Boheme, Lucia de Lammermoor, and many other bel canto roles. Even though, Imogene requires a heavier soprano, Scotto’s technique allows her yo manage almost to perfection this most difficult aria and cabaletta. .nowadays she is a perfect coach to young singers an many stage directors and conductors define Scotto as a true walking opera encyclopedia,
Maestro Maestro, la Callas non era cosi finta e la Scotto non e' cosi inarrivabile. Nella Cabaletta poi mi pare solo urletti oscillanti e miagolii. Aprile Millo e' migliore assai.
At 45 years old Scotto had been in the game for 27 years. Here we get even vibrato with only occasional stidency, dark tones with squillante brightness, magical mood and acoustical penetration. This allied with coloratura runs that are even,cleanly executed and the volume and haunting pain in the tone.. this is what it is about people. #belcanto
Another attempt by Scotto to try and compete with La Callas! So sad! She was sooo good when she sang the lighter roles, but sadly decided to go outside her sphere of excellence.
Non mi sembra la migliore impresa della Scotto. A volere ne fare troppo il suo canto si perde un poco nella linea vocale. Di più ho notato qualche problema di fiato. Una prova se fosse possibile che la musica di Bellini si rivela orribilmente rischiosa anche per un cantante di quella qualità.
