She sang this in a concert here in Vancouver in 1966. I was sitting in the balcony and i will never forget the last A flat of the Ave Maria. It seemed to come not from her onstage but from somewhere in the ceiling. Magic!

Sto ascoltando l'ostello su RAI 5 con Domingo e Frittoli la.canzone del Salice ho ascoltato poco e sono venuta qui ad ascoltare lei l'immensa Tebaldi no c'è paragone
Nel provino che Renata Tebaldi fece alla Scala con il maestro Toscanini, dopo che ebbe cantato la mamma morta, un’aria dall’opera Andrea Chenier, il maestro chiese un’altra aria e la Tebaldi disse che aveva pronto l’Otello che aveva cantato da poco a Trieste e iniziò proprio dalla canzone del salice fino all’Ave Maria. Toscanini non poté non notare la stupenda voce della Tebaldi che, ancora oggi, risuona in tutta la sua bellezza in questo video. Si può solo dire grazie per questo grande dono che è la voce di Renata Tebaldi. ❤️🎵❤️
Renata Tebaldi es sin duda alguna el mayor estandarte de los verdaderos conocedores de la Ópera, con ella no experimentas sonido, experimentas amor, Birgit Nilsson dijo que la mejor Soprano había sido La Tebaldi.
Estasiato come sempre da questa VOCE D'ANGELO. Oltre il bel canto, eternamente sarai sempre Viva Grazie Signora Renata Tebaldi e il minimo che le se possa dire.
Avete mai parlato con Renata di cosa provava quando interpretava questo ruolo? Io si! La sua desdemona è e resta insuperabile perché lei pur non dimenticando il ruolo che interpreta vive questa parte, specie l’ave Maria come una preghiera personale essendo una donna molto spirituale. In altre parole le altre cantano la Tebaldi prega! Ecco perché compie il miracolo che come diceva lei non era un suo miracolo ma le veniva concesso. Immaginate l’umiltà... questa sconosciuta a tante altre.
La riteneva una delle sue migliori interpretazioni, visto che la propose nella famosa audizione con Toscanini per le selezioni in occasione della riapertura della Scala dopo la guerra

En una oportunidad viaje de Caracas a Londres escuchando un Otello con Renata Tebaldi y Mario del Mónaco y a pesar de que la obra se llama Otello y no Desdemona, que Del Mónaco fue un Otello de primera línea, resulta imposible no mencionarla primeros a ella. Durante el trayecto escuché esta aria no menos de diez veces, el viaje se me hizo brevisimo. Que obra de arte fue la Desdemona de Renata Tebaldi

She was indeed wonderful. Fantastic version, my favorite soprano.... even though the high note, at the end of willow song, is screamed and in my opinion flat. it is the live performance footage. - it may happen to everyone. Consequently, I have no right to criticize a god soprano - Renata Tebaldi. But I admire her. and I love her voice, her iconic recordings with del Monaco. It is not possible to compare her with Callas. It is not correct. Their voice types are different. Mistakes are always taking place. Renata failed from time to time, Netrebko fails always.
It wasn't flat at all, but quite rigid, indeed. But the point about Netrebko was correct. She don't have a material for opera, but rather for some sort of crossover genre, which is suitable for her dreadful pop voice.
@@omarsomehow69Desdemona´s emotional explosion to Emilia sounds strange to my ears. But we would not take a spectral analyzer and measure the exact frequency of the note. Tebaldi was a great actress. It is not the first problem I have ever noticed with Renata. I find this completely normal. We are humans only. She was a nearly unbeatable as Desdemona. I hate Netrebko and her husband Eyvazov (Excuse me, if the spelling is not correct). We are humans only. Even the greatest singer has a bad night, bad performance (from time to time). Netrebko was acceptable from the beginning in the lyric rank. She was a pretty girl, and I was able to forgive her many problems. But her lady Macbeth, Turandot with the goat-like Eyvazov - simply horrible. Roberto Alagna is another problem. Alagna was a gifted lyric tenor capable of reaching the level of Nicolai Gedda. He barks in Otello, Trovatore, and Aida instead - di Stefano phenomenon. He is no alone. Opera is dying...
@@trilobit4 oh, i'm sorry. The highest oscillations were a little bit saggy - ish, indeed. But that's not critical, considered the fact it was in 1962, which a short time before its big crisis. But yes, the middle were whispered, while attack on top notes can be equalized to anxiety attack. Beirer wasn't better either. But the last G# from "Ave Maria" were sensational. Overall, not their finest hour. Whoever, let's not talk about other blasphemy, which being represented by Nedreadko and her personal pet. It's supported by modern - day agenda and russian mafia. So, let's not talk about utter vocal filth. But you are a little bit confused, because it's dead long time ago by pronouced decline in the begging of 70's. But history has a chronic tendency to repeat itself, so listen to something what pleasing your ears and prepare yourself for something else. That's all what i can say right here.
@@omarsomehow69 Yes, I am spending the last few weeks with Nicolai Gedda. If the god of lyric tenors has any name, Gedda is the serious candidate. I listen to mainly his live footage. I found them on the net. Luciano noticed once that Gedda has no competition in selected genres. He was right. But Gedda has also some subaverage performances, like everybody. But in selected parts, he is unbeatable, indeed. Unfortunately, I do not have anybody to share my impressions with. Consequently, excuse my talkative tendency, please.

@@pinacatalano7525 rispetto ad altre versioni è molto veloce in termini di fraseggio ed è probabile che sia questo che la rende così fresca all'ascolto. In altre incisioni la Tebaldi è più "canonica" e forse meno efficace. In questa versione ha un senso molto interessante della scena quando sceglie di precipitare alcune chiuse. Ecco forse così si capisce meglio?

Tebaldi along with de los Angeles probably had 2 of the most beautiful voices we will ever hear,caballe was also a beautiful voice but certainly not better or more beautiful than either tebaldi or de los angeles
