Renault Arkana: Traffic Jam Assist & Highway assist. Semi-autonomous driving adaptive cruise control

Peugeot 508 can be equipped with Renault Easy Drive (Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function + Lane Centering). These systems can perform semi-autonomous driving in a city and on a highway. I checked traffic jam assist with Renault Arkana and also I checked how it drives on a highway.
Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function and Lane Keep Assist (with the automatic gearbox) with an adjustable inter-vehicle distance instruction. When in lane, vehicle restarting is automatic following a stop of more than ~10 seconds. Otherwise, the function is re-initiated by depressing the accelerator pedal or resume button on the steering wheel control. The function is available from 0 km/h.

As you could see Hyundai has better system and in my opinion it is in reality. "German cars" is too big group to judge if such system is worse or better than one from Renault :)

Does it give you the keep hands on steering wheel if you just keep 1 hand on the steering wheel instead of not touching it?

Such systems - not capacitive ones - rely on the force which you put on the steering wheel. If you do not turn physically the steering wheel - no matter with how many hands - with enough force the system still "thinks" you do not keep the steering wheel. This is why "orange hacking system" works because orange has enough mass to create such force (enough for many systems).

While the lane centering can be activated only with ACC, is there also the lane keep system available?

wrong, i have the car, thats what i thought as well, you can enable it by clicking two times the lane keep system next to the steering wheel@@1001cars

Resuming after 8 second is very good. VW group probably uses 3 secs. and it's too short time in heavy jams.

@1001cars kolega chce mi wmówić,że jego wójek ma takiego Renault i że ten samochód autonomicznie pokonuje ronda. Oczywiście ja nie bardzo w to wierzę. Czy mógłbyś to potwierdzić lub zanegować?

Jeśli pasy są mocno zarysowane przed rondem i na nim, a samo rondo jest duże (trzy pasy) i w kierunku który nas interesuje skręt jest dosyć mały (prawie jakbyśmy nie przejeżdżali przez rondo), to jest to możliwe, ale na tej zasadzie to niemal każde auto ogarnie takie rondo. Takie typowe ronda, dosyć małe są nie do ogarnięcia przez takie auto - system utrzymania na pasie ruchu wyłącza się w zasadzie jeszcze nim zbliżymy się do wysepki.

I’ve got the 1.3 iconic & the seating position is horrible! My throttle leg is constantly crunched! If I move the seat further back I cannot reach steering wheel! Baring in mind I’m 5ft 10 they really haven’t thought this through

You can adjust the steering wheel with a handle on the left.

mam wrażenie że system o jeden poziom gorszy od BMW, AUDI, Mercedes. Pana odczucia takie same?

Zgadza się, Audi, BMW czy Mercedes nie bez powodu są premium i odpowiednio kosztują, bo realnie te systemy mają lepsze, choć oczywiście nie w absolutnie każdym ich aucie taki system jest lepszy, bo zależnie od modelu realnie instalowane są różne systemy.
