Actually I have no idea about it.. But I don't think it will stop it. I've never had a problem like that again after I had changed the chip in the key.

Did you end up fixing it?

No, not at all.. It costed 10$ to me. I went to a key repairer. He said the chip was broken and did something with the key and that's all. My car started to work as usual.

I really hope to find that kind of solution in Greece but I dont think so.. I think I should be looking at electronic repairs am I right? because key repairs here are only for creating new keys, I really hope it's not a major electronics fault and the cost make it not worthy for the value of the car, because if it's the ECU, the cost is about 600$ @@micronews7

Just wait 60 secs in that case with the fix red light, don't do anything! Wait. After 60 secs turn off the ignition, then turn it back on without pressing the remote button. The red light will go off in a few secs as normal. Actually in this case it doesn't even check the immo chip, you can simply start the car with a blank key blade (without the lectronics). Go figure. Also, you have to turn the ignition back on within 5-10 secs in this case, otherwise the immo will engage again.

Here's the thing though: as someone already pointed out, it probably has nothing to do with central locking. I just tried it with the battery removed, and it worked. So pressing it while turning flexes the board, possibly setting straight some connections. It will probably fail for good eventually. One of my keys did, the RFID coil went bust (which transmits the immo codes), bought another key with exact same model number off ebay (there are a LOT of different key types, even for same model car) and soldered the RFID coil over to my key. It works... for now...

Alain Lc I have a similar issue. No flashing light but a fixed red light. How do I resolve this?
