Thanks! I was able to repair mine. Had a lot of trouble opening the dc motor itself, but after many injuries in my fingers I got it hahah. The main problem with mine was related to the surface in which the carbon brushes make contact with the rotor was very dirty, after using a fine sandpaper to clean it up, it started working again.
Mine went dead today at the petrol station, what an annoying problem as we were low on diesel. Luckily we were 5 minutes from a renault dealer and he put his hand inside the rear boot liner and pulled something and it popped open. Ordered a new one. 121 euros! This is one of a list of faults with this 2014 scenic. Never saw this one coming though!!!
comment to add I have just changed my MK3 Laguna one with a Megane MK3 one and both the same. Now they Both had the same problem the Motor works Fine but the rod that locks the cap gets stuck inside the retaining Bolt that it passes thru. use this strip-down video then grease up the rod after you free it all up, I am guessing the reason the Motor dies is because it is sticking in the Bolt causing friction which then causes the bolt to corrode and the plastic to stick. Hope that helps someone I did the replacement on the Laguna in 2 Hours with it you have to remove the inside wheel arch cover to undo the Nut that holds it then pul it our through the access hatch in the boot. Good luck was a fun repair..
Wow, thanks for this amazing video! My fuel flap has the same problem! I'll try it tomorrow on my Renault. However, if someone wants to change the whole motor, i saw that there are some of the same size which are very cheap (about 2 euros each). What type of motor could replace it? (voltage, etc). Also, what's the liquid you use at 6'.04'' -> water?
