Good tips there Matt, I did a timing belt on one of these yesterday. They are a bit of a pain with limited access. Using the right timing tools is a must on these keyless pulleys. Mine had a bad oil leak and the old belt was soaked in oil. The inlet cam oil seal was at an angle and letting oil past onto the dephaser pulley. 😁
I had the same thing when I did my Renault, the head gasket kit I got for that had the wrong inlet cam seal. Thankfully the head gasket set for this car has options of inlet cam seals. Thanks for watching
I've got the 2.0 16v petrol version, 05 model. Found oil on the spark plug on cylinder 3. Intake was also full of oil so cleaned it out and fitted a catch can. Not sending fuel to injectors, replaced the fuel pump but still nothing. Powered fuel pump direct from battery to test, fuel pressure is strong, started and seems to be running on 3 cylinders as its very rough. Check injection light came on now. Cars been parked off over a year as funds are low and mechanics this side(South Africa) don't want to work on these cars and they quote huge numbers just to assess. The dealership is a no go, if i take it to the dealer 3 times i'd have used the same amount of money as just buying a decent 2nd hand car. Hoping there's a solution by watching your vids. God bless
I had one with a faulty fuel pump relay that was like that. Have you read the fault codes in the engine. Just remember that cylinder one is the gearbox end on french cars.
This is mostly getting the engine work for a bad oil leak, and replacing the valve stem oil seals and timing belt at the same time. Thanks for watching
I'm prepared to drive up to you from East Yorkshire because I have had just about enough of my 2010 megane. It's obvious you know what you're doing. Do you have an emai address I can contact you on? I'm dead serious because I'm being ripped off left right and centre
