I bought Scenic for my daughter for her first car. I knew about the parking brake fault and that one tail lamp isn't working. Later we learned that rear windows don't work so I found this video. I didn't bother with connectors, I just soldered all the wires together and put some shrink tubes on. It takes about three hours, because the bottom wires were oxidized and some already fell off. It all works now. This connector will never bother me again. Thanks for the video.
Spot on. Have this problem on my car only I unblocked that drain hole and dried out the car. Still minor electric faults but you have shown me where and what to change. Many thanks.
Mate, thanks for this! Really helped! I fixed it with by cleaning the connector with WD40 contact cleaner. Managed to cut through the carpets front and back because the bolts on the seat were too tight to remove with normal tools. Big thanks!
Thanks m8, I'm looking into buying one, and the lady selling it mentioned that she has to do the exact same thing you just did. I'm curious if the water damage is only to the windows and handbrake or can it mess up the whole el sys? Cheers
My scenic 2 has a plastic floor underneath the seat that seem difficult to remove. I see no screws. Is it supposed to "click into place" somehow ? It needs to go out in order to access the wiring loom. I do not see those plastic floor parts in any of the repair videos so far.
Hello sorry I didn't check the name at that time. I got the connector from scrap yard. Maybe do the same thing too, go scrap yard and you'll probably find same vehicle. And yess you can try spray the WD40 and see if it helps. Good luck 👍
Hello i have the same problem. Have you a Picture with the cable From 13 to 17 for the Colors please because i dont throught on the net. Thanks for your answer.
Hello, writing from italy. Have the same proplem and have 2 question.1.what is the cost of thisoperation and 2.question , how can I obtain or buy the new coonector. Thank you
@@blitzroehre1807 What is the way to remove those plastic floor parts that cover the entire floor on the Scenic 2 ? It goes under the front seat as well. I need to be able to access the wiring loom to solder damaged wires. I have a 2003 model.
@@gunnarMyTube I unbolted the left front seat, lifted it out of the rear locating lugs and then tipped it sideways (without disconnecting the seat airbag plug if wires are long enough) Then I pulled the carpet and that pesky plastic junk upwards and tied it to a grab handle up top with a piece of string. That gives you just enough space to work. Make sure you lay your repaired part of the loom there on a piece of polystyrene once done so it lays higher up than before and maybe drill a small hole in the floor. Good luck
I had this problem and my wiring have been cut from the plug and i dont know how to connect them again a video connecting them would be really nice or a redirect
@@tonyradu703 Then you are in trouble....many of the wires have the same color so normally the repair is done by soldering each wire one by one making sure to cut wires in the same position beneath and above the connector and rejoin them without the connector.
I will try that method thanks for mentioning. My Scenic 2 2003 model have a plastic floor covering the area where the wiring loom goes. How do I get those plastic tiles out ? Do they "snap into place" by some tabs ??
