As u said ,in dreams we behave and think as we behave or think in the real world in your lecture (Descartes method of doubt)then why he didn't assume himself doubting or thinking about everything in the dream?he could have a thought that he is thinking in the dream.
Dreams do not follow order and coherence. There is no active consciousness in dreams... This is why, one cannot continue doubting each and everything in the dream... if a person cannot doubt, it certainly means that he is dreaming... And, if he is able to doubt different things, it means he is not dreaming....
Sir I have a confusion. Sir , Jo descartes ka Mind-Body Dualism hai, wahi descartes ki epistemology bhi hai? Ya woh ek alag concept hai? If we are simply asked a question about the epistemology of Descartes then are we suppose to to mention this Mind-Body Dualism ?
why there is a criticism on the interaction between material and immaterial thing i.e how it takes place ? despite the fact that he has given the via of interaction (pineal gland)
He did not discuss the proper mechanism through which pineal gland establishes the link between material and immaterial thing. People are skeptical about such interaction... How can an immaterial entity interact with a material thing? They both have contrasting features... Mind is immaterial, conscious and beyond space and time. However, Body is material, unconscious and exist within time and space. And above all, is pineal gland itself a material thing or immaterial? In short, Descartes does not offer explanations to these queries...
We consider mind and soul as separate entities.... But, there are many philosophers who do not differentiate between mind and soul... For them, mind comprises of a rational soul...
Sir sorry for bothering again, Descartes ki knowledge of theory or rationalism ma bs ya kafi ha..?? Aur es ka existence of GOD ki philosophy ha es ma b ya points discuss karna hoga..??
Ji yahi kafi hai Rationalism k hawaly sy... Descartes py three types k questions aaty hain...1- Rationalism of Descartes 2- Method of Doubt 3- Existence of God
